After the 26 lap race with XRR around the International layout, it is time to move away from Westhill towards the final quarter of our 2025 season. But before we do, let's take a look at what happened in the race.
In the 45 minute qualifying session the fastest lap by over a second was set by Lagooga, who repeated his previous qualifying result in his second appearance in the series, maintaining a 100% pole rate. Second fastest was Mouseman, just ahead of nico hülkenburger (AKA Unite) in third. Twincam was fourth and Tbug fifth. But as the top three decided to not start from their respective grid positions, this promoted the Twinbug-duo to the first row, followed by ZFRL-duo of Motimoukari and Thehemuli with Maciek in fifth position.
At the start there was drama even before the lights turned green as Tbug jumped the start and was forced to join behind the pack from the pitlane. Unite made some good progress from behind the grid passing three cars at once in T1 and passing Kid at the first split and was in fifth position after that when Rony decided to pay a visit to the barriers ahead of him. Twincam started to pull a steady gap at the front while Thehemuli tried to keep up but ended up overheating his tyres in the process. This led to him losing positions to both Motimoukari and Unite on lap 5, with Unite overtaking Motimoukari too for P2 at the end of the lap. This meant he had 20 laps to gain 5 seconds and make a pass for the win, which he achieved on lap 16 after Twincam made a small mistake. Unite gained a small gap and maintained it until the end, scoring his fifth ARC win. Twincam made his first podium appearance in 2nd place, while the podium was completed by Thehemuli who had an indcident with his teammate who ended up on his roof late in to the race. This incident was reviewed by the race director and was deemed as no further action needed. Top five was completed by Michal in fourth and Rony in fifth.
As stated above, we will switch to a new track environment for the last three races. Thehemuli scored the most points across the three Westhill races, but as he has already picked once this season, the choice was handed to the second place driver in Q3 standings, Unite. You will have to wait until we post the event info for round 10 in a few days to find out where we are headed, stay tuned!
