The online racing simulator
No Online Connection - "An event list request is in progress"
After no fewer than 3 reinstalls, I cannot seem to get LFS working online in any fashion whatsoever.
The event list refuses to load, with the error code stating "An event list request is in progress".
After this, one of the two following messages appears when attempting to access mods:
"A mod rating is in progress"
"Mod List: Could not connect"
I am running the latest version of LFS, and have tried slightly older variants as well, to no avail.
I have followed all the changes to the GAME PASSWORD, and have successfully logged in every time, this is an issue that predates these changes.
To complicate matters further, I am able to access lobbies like BeginnerBMW. So there is some part of the connection that clearly is working.

Completely unsure what to do here.
Hi, I hope someone might have a suggestion if they see it here.

From my reply in your original report on the test patch thread:
Quote from Scawen :Thanks for the info. It seems your LFS can connect to our servers using the usual connections to the master server and game servers (as you can see a list of hosts and join them successfully) but has an issue when it tries to use HTTP to our web server, to obtain an event list or a mod list.

I can't think of a reason for that. Joining a host or getting a list from our web server both use TCP connections, to servers located in the same data centre. The event and mod lists use HTTP over that TCP connection. Could a firewall somehow be blocking these but allowing the non-HTTP connections to pass through?

Apparently something is blocking your LFS from making certain connections to our web server. These are the ones that use the HTTP protocol, unlike the game packets that use a custom protocol that seems to work fine, as you can get a list of hosts and join hosts. It's only event list, skins and mods that seem to cause the problem. These are different from the game packets as they connect directly to our web server and make HTTP requests.

Can you test with a different internet connection, in case your ISP is blocking HTTP?

Which version of Windows are you using, and any additional antivirus or firewall software?

1 - "I cannot seem to get LFS working online in any fashion whatsoever"
2 - "I am able to access lobbies like BeginnerBMW"

These are contradictory, if it were an LFS problem I would assume you would never connect Shrug

Do you have another computer/laptop you can try to test?(you're probably out of unlocks by the look of it)
Did you check your firewall settings in Windows? Should look like this:

It can be your default DNS server, it can be any other unreliable internet equipment on your house.
- Follow this guide to change DNS servers in windows and use 1.1.1.1 as primary and 8.8.8.8 as secondary
FYI - 1.1.1.1 is operated by Cloudfare ; 8.8.8.8 is operated by Google

Try renewing IP address:
Open CMD, paste the next 2 commands(one after the other) and execute
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

You dont experience any other problem with any other online game, browser(youtube), netflix etc?
