half cars on ultrawide monitor [distortion effect]
hi i am using ultrawide monitor, it is 5120x1440 resolution and i have a problem playing this game. In all lfs vehicles and modded vehicles, the right side of the car is not flat and gives the feeling that I am driving half the car. this situation bothers me a lot. but this problem is fixed when I press the right side facing key. release the key and the same problem persists. here are my screenshots:

I don't know if it's just me, but it really looks like half of the car is missing, you can tell by the mirror and the right frame.

I'm gonna be honest, i have no idea what you're trying to say. If i were to take a wild guess here, the "problem" is that parts of the left side of the car is missing when you're looking to the right. As it is "fixed" when you are looking forward again.

This is expected behaviour. I'm praying that this is not the case Ya right

Imagine this;
  • You're scrolling youtube shorts on your phone.
  • As you have your eyes open, you can see the video playing and hear the audio from the video
  • If you close your eyes, you can no longer see the video. This is because your eyes are closed.
...again, this is expected behaviour.

in the second picture there is a flat image that should be, the right side that I complained about in the first picture narrows towards the left side and when we look at the wheels from the f tab, there is a disproportionate body calculation. but I reach the correct image in the key / key view. if it was like this due to the narrowed view, I think the left side would be the same. maybe I'm thinking wrong.
This is just lens effect. You don't experience it when looking right, because the furthest away corner is now in lens centre (so it doesn't get distorted) whereby the objects on the edges of the lens (wheel, seat) are very close to the lens, so they also avoid the distortion effect. The situation differs on frontal look of course, because now the closest object to the lens is in it's centre (wheel), but the furthest away object to the lens (so the most prone to lens distortion now) is A pillar, now on edge of the lens, so it gets the full distortion. If on roadsteer car, you can try to back-off the camera position manually, than adjust the FOV to narrower one (narrower FOVs give less lens effect on the edges, beware of flat-out outlook thought). Here's example between 120º, 90º and 60º angles, the left-side gets destroyed by driver view, so try to focus just on the right side.

hello thank you for your reply, my view settings are like this. I use it at 125 because it feels very close the other way. For example, we can solve this problem without seeing the right corner, when I pull it from 125 to 95, I don't see that part as a result, but it is really close and I don't want to drive like this.

thank you for your response i am not looking for the appropriate fov setting, i am trying to correct the car view on the right side of the screen from the skew. today i started to try options like Triple Screen with a little work on it. i managed to fix the problem, albeit slightly, but not perfect.

at least we have a flat right side, but I'm not sure if I should solve the problem like this.

I think I'm making the right point I can solve this with the help of TripleScreen. just seems like I need to set it right..
On a side-note: realistic FOV doesn't exist, won't elaborate on this thread thought.
When I consulted with artificial intelligence, I had to use around 1600 1700, not 1200 width, I tried many settings all night, yes, we can solve the right side as I want, but this setting changes from vehicle to vehicle, I could not reach a complete solution. The last image I threw is not realistic, yes, after all, I use a single screen and because we show it virtually as if it were three screens, it looks flat instead of a horizontal image.
or get a normal monitor. Tilt
I understand the distortion is kind of strange, because it is linear. Although 'correct' in one sense it is sort of wrong in another, related to our perception.

Ideally there could be a distortion shader to make this affect more agreeable but this is not available in LFS.

There is a quite extreme setting you can use. It uses multiple renders to create the main scene.

In Options - View ... there is a setting "Multiple screen layout" and you can set up to 5 left screens and 5 right screens. This can approximate a cylindrical render, created from 11 vertical linear renders per frame.

I'd be interested to know if you get any improvement by using that.

You would adjust the view in that case by "Main screen FOV" and "Screen Angle" which should be a fairly small number.
