Freezing tire temps but not wear?
As the title describes, I would like the ability to freeze tire temps but not tire wear. I think it's a good aspect to have for longer races. It's no secret the tire temp problem is on of the annoyances in this sim where any high performance vehicle starts to overheat the tires and they just will not lose temp at any meaningful rate. I remember the tweaker for s2 had a tire cooling option that chilled the tires quickly, but now with the s3 license you just have the option to freeze wear and temp outright, which is overkill.
Do they freeze tire temps in real life also? clown Looney
This is a racing simulator, not Gran Turismo. We deal with real life stuff as accurately as possible. Dumbing down the game like Project Cars 3 did is a big no no Nod

One of the key parts of racing is knowing how to manage your tyres, that means you indeed have to learn to drive the car without overheating the tyres, aswell as keeping them in the optimum temp range over all wear levels. LFS is, as michal said, a simulator, henceforth it tends to be as true to real life as the technology allows, which is why freezing temps shouldn't ever be an option
I was actually thinking about this the other day when i was hanging around drift servers, it would be nice to lock the tire temperatures at 90 degrees so i wouldn't have to pit every other "lap".

Though, realistically it wouldn't make sense to add this "feature" to the game. As others have already said.
I don't think such questions should be answered by simple ,,it's a sim" mantra. Afterall, how many of you wait in pits for the car to repair, especially when on singleplayer? Bet you just double-space or do box-in, box-out. At the end of the day, it's a game nonetheless, so it won't be bad to simplify some aspects of real life in order to cover some gamemode cases. Ofc. as long as it's optional, unlike Project Cars 3, where they tossed it out of the window...
