What: Fifth round of the ZFRL All Rounder Championship 2025 presented by Sim Broadcasts
When: Monday 5th of May. 45 min qualifying will start at 17:00 UTC, heat races will start at 18:00 UTC
Where: Fern Bay Rallycross Green (FE6) at our server ZFRL•Events

It is almost time for the second rallycross event of ARC Season 2. This time we will use the Skoda 100 L Rallye to race around Fern Bay Rallycross Green in small groups. The event format will differ from other tyre type rounds, here is a brief introduction to the event:

• There will be a 45 min qualifying starting at 17:00 UTC
  
• There will be 3 sets of heat races divided into groups of 3-5 cars depending on total attendance
  
• There will be Final races with 6 cars each, the amount of finals (A,B,C...) depends on total attendance
  
• Your qualifying result determines your group and grid position for heat 1
  
• Your race time from heat 1 determines your group and grid position for heat 2
  
• Your combined race time from heats 1 and 2 determine your group and grid position for heat 3
  
• Your combined race time from all heats minus the slowest one determines your final (A,B,C...) and grid position
  
• 1-5 fastest combined total times qualify for A-final, 6-10 qualify for B-final and so on
  
• Winner of each final advances to the next one in 6th grid position
  
• Total round results are determined by your finishing position in your last final race
  

If this seems confusing, do not be afraid to join the server on race day. Simply set a laptime during qualifying and follow the orders from race direction and you will do just fine.

Any incident reports should be posted in the respective event thread or in our discord server. The report should include the round number, lap and/or a timestamp and a brief description of the incident. The deadline for reports is 18:00 UTC tomorrow, 24h from race start.

For the second rallycross round of the season we had a slightly slower paced combo than last time. We raced around the shortest official rallycross track in the game with the officially licensed Skoda 110L Rallye.

Fastest time in qualifying was set by newcomer naluyluka by almost two tenths, which is an impressive margin for a sub 33 second laptime. Second fastest was another newcomer, Trespasser. Third and fourth places were conquered by Zafiralis drivers, Motimoukari leading Thehemuli. Behind them in fifth was Lorenzo.

During the heat races we had some technical difficulties with the program that automates the heat division calculations and gridding. This meant these had do be done manually for the remainder of heat races and finals which caused a significant delay. Big thanks to everyone who stayed with us in the server and via the broadcast and our apologies for everyone who had to leave because of the issue.

Despite the delay we still had enough participants for two final runs. Unite started the B-final form pole position and made it count. He was challenged by Rony in the first lap, but the Finn took back the lead in the beginning of lap two and managed to hold on until the finish. This promoted Unite to the back of the A-final grid. The A-final polesitter Thehemuli took advantage of his starting position and held the lead during the first set of corners. Behind him Motimoukari made a move on the outside of Lorenzo and got past into second place. Madjester tried to challenge Lorenzo for third together with Unite, creating a three wide situation through turn 3. Paint was traded between these three for the first few laps before a unlucky contact in the last turn on lap 2 caused Unite and Madjester to spin. This meant that the top three could just cruise to the finish with all of them being unable to make any overtake attempts. Thehemuli wins his second dirt tyre event in ARC, the last time also being in Fern Bay. Motimoukari takes second and Lorenzo third. Madjester beat Unite in the race for fourth, but Unite managed to take the fastest lap into his name.

We will have our last Fern Bay round of this season in just a week with a car that has slick tyres and even some wings. Full info for round 6 will be posted tomorrow. In the quarterly standings everything is pretty much still open as the current leader Thehemuli only has 26 points, while a minimum of 25 points are awarded to the winner of round 6. As a reminder, the driver with most points across the three rounds in one track environment gets to choose the next one.
