The first race of the second half-century was a repeated combo and unlike in the first try,which was pretty much averagely attended,this time the grid was filled fully,while qualifying had the 2nd highest number of attendants in all time history. Not very surprising when a driver,who selected this combo also won it,he'll have another chance for that before losing the right to select the combo due "no more than 2 in row" rule.
J.Katila set a convincing fastest lap in qualifying securing his 2nd pole position in RTFR XL,led most of the laps on his way to 1st RTFR XL racewin,finishing over half a minute ahead of competition,5th top5 finish in his account,3rd out of 3 this year. J.Lavrikov's only previous attendance to RTFR XL was in the 1st try of this combo,which he won,this year he met stronger competition and barely with some luck could score at least 2nd place finish,2nd top5 for him obviously. J.Laguckas sacrificed his chances for 2nd place by helping J.Lavrikov to finish 2nd,thus finishing 3rd and scoring his 4th top5 finish,but he managed to steal the fastest lap of the race from the winner,which is his 3rd. Unite finished 4th to score his 7th top5 finish in RTFR XL,but the winner of previous 2 races can consider himself lucky to bring home at least 5th place finish,which is his 18th top5 finish - he now breaks the tie and takes a sole 2nd place in most top5 finishes chart.
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
A total of 7 drivers took part in both editions of this combo - 6 of them finished lower than in previous try,one did not finish at all,another proof that competition has grown stronger lately.
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Coincidentally there was just a single driver,who finished the race without any pitwork during the mandatory pitstop - just like in previous try of the combo. This time it was not the usual clock pitter,but Maciek,who had 10.08 seconds pitstop.
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Botagas used the chance to join the race as some qualifyiers were not present in server anymore and starting last is the best chance to gain most positions during the race - he gained 27 positions to finish 13th.
* HONORABLE MENTION :
In a race where plenty of drivers could not keep all 4 tyres alive while using LFS's "medium" compound R3,there was one kamikadze using the soft R2 and kept them alive for whole 255 kilometers of the race - his name is Rando and he finished 8th and set 9th fastest lap of the race.
4 weeks after this race RTFR XL will be back with currently unknown combo,the winner has received the PM about his options and has time until tuesday to reply,but next week the normal RTFR will return with one of the street legal cars,details about combo can be heard in stream recording (link in post above) or you have to wait until weekend for full info.
