Just like the century race of normal RTFR,the half-century race of RTFR XL shattered all previous records. The slow and "simple" car was attractive enough to gather up a total of 43 drivers,who set a laptime in qualifying and 41 who wanted to start the race (one of them when it was already too late).
R.Kardol was the one,who chosed this combo and used it for his own good - despite a "tale" through whole race,which occasionally passed him,the dutchman still led 40 of 41 laps on his way to victory lane and became tied 2nd best in all time RTFR XL stats in several positions - this was R.Kardol's 4th race win,4th pole position and 17th top5 finish. It was J.Katila,who was that "tale" - the finn started from 3rd position and chased the leader whole 76 minutes long,stretching his car's nose by for many moments,but never long enough to take over the lead permanently - 2nd place finish,which is his new best finishing position in RTFR XL,4th top5. Unite proved to be fastest during the race,but only for several laps - he improved server's lap record multiple times,but probably his pitstop strategy denied chances to finish higher than 3rd - 6th top5 finish for him and 1st fastest lap of the race. Gábor and Botsi switched positions between start and finish - the hungarian finished 4th and scored his 6th top5 finish while 5th place for Botsi was his 17th top5 finish (the other driver in the 2nd most tie).
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
This was the 4th shortest RTFR XL race in terms of race time length - 2 of 3 shorter races were also with UF1,the 3rd - with other STD class car XFG. This of course just proves the fact that slower cars can be raced close to hotlap pace for longer time than faster cars.
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Unite was not only the fastest in terms of a single laptime,he was also the quickest in pitlane - his work free pitstop was 10.04 seconds long and with it the shortest of this race.
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Mandula gained a total of 8 positions during the race as he started 14th and finished just a position shy off top5. There was a driver who gained 9 positions,but only due fact he did not serve his mandatory pitstop.
* HONORABLE MENTION :
...goes to driver who saw the highest ever position in all time Race Green Events single event history next to his name - 43. Temporato qualified in position many would not accept and leave before considering to start - the austrian stayed in server and used the chance of 3 other drivers not taking their earned starting positions and finished the race 34th.
The combo for next RTFR XL is currently unknown - R.Kardol has already picked twice in row,which gives the honor to chose next combo to 2nd place finisher J.Katila. He has to reply to PM here in lfs.net as soon as possible,but no later than start of next normal RTFR event next tuesday. Talking about next tuesday - we're gonna race another one of the rather slower cars,attentive stream viewers already know the combo,rest have to wait for weekend when the info will be posted. But in the day before racers have the last chance to join this year's AWS season - 5th round will be run in the fast and winding circuit of Westschleifenring with the RB4,more details in AWS forum section.
