License unlock problem
Hi all,
I unlocked my S3 license, but after a month or so without playing, I've started the game and it seems is unregistered.

A bit weird, but when I fill in the details to unlock the license again, it can't connect with the server. I've tried rebooting the system, turning firewall off, everything remains the same, no luck. The only thing remaining is to reinstall the gamne.

Is the server down? Any link to check its status? What can I try? What happens if I use all my unlocks in the process?

Thanks.
Have you checked the FAQ section of the website, there is a mention of having to use the game password instead of the web password, and a link to this troubleshooting forum thread: https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/29454

Also in the FAQ there is a mention that one get's more unlocks once a week in case one ends up using all of the ones they have available.

If someone has encountered this type of issue they might be able to provide more help, as I'm just going by what I've read.

Hi! LFS shouldn't lock itself after not playing it (as far as I know), so there might be some problem with disk read/write permissions? Just a wild guess, cause it does not seem usual. Also, the fact that it suddenly can't connect to the server is a bit weird, as it's online and working (downtime is very rare nowadays, fortunately). Something must have happened on the PC since you last played?
Did you install the game under Program Files forlder?
Thanks for the replies!

I've read the Q&A, and I can reach the server:

There is no entry in hosts file, and no changes done to the system: I was not playing because of holidays.

I'm not running it from Program Files, but neither it was when it worked. I've tried to run it with admin rights, created a rule in Windows Firewall, disabled firewall completely, reinstalled the game, double checked and changed my game password...

Everything remains the same, I'm not able to unlock my license.

Is there any registry key that could be corrupted and is not cleaned with uninstall? Is the only thing that could make sense to me.

Thanks and kind regards.

Hi all,
I've solved it!!!

My ISP updated my router with a more strict firewall policy, so it was not related to my PC configuration.

Seems that some port used by LFS to configure itself was banned by my router firewall, thus the activation problems.

Thanks for the support.
Glad to hear you solved it Smile Have fun, see you online!
