I stumbled across this and thought it'd be good to have posted here for reference. It shows beautifully the difference in perceived speed at different field-of-view settings.

it's also a trick in the movie industry to make some stuff appear to be faster, a good example everyone might know are the nos buttons from F&F 1-2
