I created two timelapse videos of painting LFS cars.
It shows the progress between every new preview:

How:
1) I assume everybody exports the WIP skin file from time to time anyway, to preview it in CMX viewer.
Instead of overwriting the old file on export, just delete it:
It gets moved into windows paperbin.

2) Once skin is finished go to paperbin and select all skin files.
Rightclick, "cut", paste into data\skins folder of viewer.

3) Windows will say "blabla all the files have the same name! what do?"
Select the option to autmatically give each file unique name via number.

4) In skin-viewer open one file after another and take screenshot (CTRL+S)
That is monoton but easy step, takes about 1-3 minutes of repetive clicking.

5) There are many tools to combine the images into a movie. Easiest is the windows movie maker: Options->Advanced->"Default duration for images"
Set it to something short like 0,5 seconds.
(not sure of the exact words in english version, there are only few options anyway)

6) Drag & Drop all the images into the time line.

7) File->Publish/Export movie

8) Tada
