my damn steering wheel won't clamp on to my desk, the reason being that the screw is worn down . it makes aloud thump if the screw gets to the worn down bit and undo's itself. its is a thrustmaster ferrari 458 wheel, if anyone has got any ideas please respond.

P.S. i've tried a pland of wood in between the desk and clamp and that doesn't work

Does the wheel base have the option to permanently mount it? If so then you could mount it on a bit of wood and then clamp the wood to the table with alternative clamps (presuming you do not want to drill holes in your table).

Failing that, then take it apart and see if it can be fixed/modified. As you tried to add extra thickness and that did not work, then it would sound as though the screw part is ok and it is the nut part at fault...but only inspection would confirm.
