Carrier locked Android Update to 4.2
I have an HTC One X on O2 running 4.1 . Want to update to 4.2, but O2 are notoriously slow at releasing updates.
Is it possible to update by changing the carrier id or install a standard HTC build without rooting?
Also read about rru's and unlocking bootloader, but new to android, confused and unsure about the options.
Help Please !
Iv had o2 ruu , but after instaling costum rom without saving old ru ( which i couldnt find later) iv instaled other ruu (dont ask me how ) and its works perfect with official updates and everything else ...
simple question, if I root the phone (my Razr I), does all the update stuff and teh apps still work as usual? I just want to add a single line in one cfg to be able to buy apps via phone bill.

edit: ok, forget it, I'll get a gift card instead
all should work fine, thing is you lose your warranty "unlocking" it ...
thats how it works on htc devices(samsun also i think)
