Right, DEP is stopping me from using my databases sync via briefcases, and after i really needed a file i tried to fix it, and found the solution:

but i don't know how to edit the boot.ini file!

Start > Run > Msconfig gets you to the place where you can change it I believe. Although I know nothing beyond that

yeap, tryed that, couldnt get to actually edit it!

Rightclick the file - and remove the Read Only Attribute.

EDIT - Just did it, i'll reboot and see if it worked later, would logging on and then off again do the trick?

tried it and exporer.exe crashed!

why did you turn it off?

and yes - it prevents data that could hurt things like explorer from running. Hence the name, data execution prevention.
