V8 Bathurst 1000
Its time for Aussie V8_Supercars Bathurst 1000!

The Bathurst 1000 is a 1000 kilometre motor race for touring cars, conducted at the Mount Panorama circuit near Bathurst. Bathurst is located 220 kilometres West of the city of Sydney or about a three hour drive along the Great Western Freeway/Highway. Car makes the like of Mini, Jaguar, BMW, Volvo, Nissan, Ford and Holden have raced and won at The Mountain track since the inaugural race in 1973. However, longest running rivalry has been between the two local makes, Ford and Holden.

It's the most anticipated race of the year. An event with almost unrivalled grandeur, prestige and mystique. Though it falls two-thirds of the way through the season it's the V8 Supercars grand final. The spiritual home where glory can turn a horror championship year into the best year of your life.

I said that it is not available in some contries
what happened with that marshall they had to stop the race for? They said he was badly hurt.

... I hope he's ok, whatever it was.
so uhh... bets on how long it takes them to change the fuel cell design? That's two fireballs this season... scary stuff.
What a finale

He wasn't hit by a car, that's for sure, those marshal posts are well behind the safety walls.
As for the fire, could have been much worse if not for the fire crews at the marshals posts, beers all round for the firey's.
Two fires in one season isn't that big a deal really, seen worse during my time on track years ago.
I actually raced on that track on sidecars before all those new fangled safety fences were installed, the top of that mountain was terrifying if you got it wrong back then.

And yes, exciting finish, first time in around 30 years a rookie has stood on the winners podium, he had one of the best lead drivers to learn from too.
Brilliant finish.
Great race!
Kept me busy all day

For 2013 season there's plan for Car of the future, which will have better overal safety, fuel cell being moved more forward. So they just have to survive this and next season...
Fantastic finish

the new cars will feature a different fuel cell and fuel cell position. Was it 2012 or 2013 they start using the new cars?

3-times Nascar Champion Darrell Waltrip on the radio during a ride around the track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUcweHdiYe8

well PMD posted it earlier
Wow, it's been a while since I've seen a fire like that from a racing crash. Was it lack of saftey or was it just that hard of a hit?
There was a worse fireball in V8 Supercars earlier this year.

considering that, I'd say somewhat a lack of safety. off the start line, and one backed into the wall... I mean sure, they were fairly hard hits, but I've seen way harder, all the time.

like Ford Pintos out there
All the cars have basically the same chassis. So what makes the Vodafone car consistently faster than the other teams? Whenever I watch V8, it's always the 888/88 car at the front.
