Total newbie question
Hello Everyone

I've recently found this game and have been enjoying it very much, online races.

But one thing has been bugging me: I keep loosing the backend of my Formula BMW

I'm not a total nebie at setups and know the basic gist of things...but I cannot seem to control this car out of the corners and I just keep loosing it.

Is there any tips people can throw around for me to be able to power out of the corners like allot of other people online are able to.

Practice, practice more, more, more, more, more, more...

When you get bored, practice more...

Then practice more...

And you will be able to do 1:14 easy, then you are "not so bad" like me and other drivers... (depending of your talent)
like was said, practice, and add rear wing/take off front wing.

but you could try adding negative camber in the back wheels, or lowering the tire pressure in the back.

lower the differential locking setting a little, if you think you are getting too much power in the wrong places causing you to lose control.

lower the rear suspension's rebound dampening setting a little bit, loosening the spring rate in the back, or lowering the sway bar stregnth should do the job also.

all depends on what the source of the problem is though.
Thanks for all the replies,

It turned out to just be a stupid mistake, I accidently swiched the front and rear wing angles around on the setup.

Currently I'm driving with 4 Degrees front and 11 Degrees back.
Unfortunatly this causes too much drag on the main straight of Blackwood but its really the butterzone, 10 Degrees back means I start skidding again so I'm going to practice with the setup I have now and periodically change down in the hope of having more control over my car.

Again, thanks for the help... now its to find why I can see my friend's carskin but he can't see mine...mmmh.

If I remember correctly, demo users' skins aren't shared online - only licensed users can upload skins to LFSWorld. If you don't/can't upload your skin then nobody else can see it, unless you send it to them some other way (email?) and they place it in their skins folder.

No doubt someone will correct me if this info is outdated, but that's how it always used to be.
If it is a customized skin you will have to upload the skin to LFSWorld so others can see it. As thisnameistaken mentioned, as a demo-licensed racer, by default you are not allowed to upload skins (S1 licence holders get 25-skin upload slots, and S2 licence holders get 50). However, as a demo licensed racer you can buy additional slots using the "increase" link on LFSworld's My online car skins (this was added something like a year or so ago).

Even if that is a posibility, personally I would buy a S1 licence (and get 25 complimentary skin upload slots).

If you only want you friend to see the skin, thisnameistaken's suggest would be the best.

You must doing somethign wrong, i'be do it some laps with the fbm and i put 6 rear / 4 front and r3 / r3 and the car grips really well after the main straight on bl

Can you upload a replay ?

or, if it's just 1 skin, and your friend has s1 or s2, you could email it to him and ask him nicely to upload it. That way, everyone will be able to see it, not just your friend.
Right well, My friend is Demo only like myself. I found him his skin and had it saved on my desktop before sending it over, I thus tried to do the same, sending him my skin and LFS recognised it but some error popped up...anyway I'm soon going to get S2 so it doesn't matter.

As for my setup, I've been shown by some nice fellow (I beleive with McLaren in his/her name) to Change my tire pressures and setup, this helped slightly but still I got trouble controlling the car out of the corners with lower then 10 degrees on my rear wing... Its something I'm working on.

The biggest gipe with this game I recently have is the tight assed players that sometimes populate the servers...

Just now I raced on a server I visit often and really like, but are the people really that sad to vote for a restart after a first corner scrap? Ecpecially if I start 2nd and come out of the first corner 1st without hitting anyone?

Even worse is that I'm now currently banned on this server for 11 hours because after that restart, I get hit in the back in the first corner, get spinned around and am only a passenger when they all hit me because they cannot avoid me, seconds later I see the vote to ban me pop up, and even before I can explain myself I'm kicked out.

Is everyone on S2 so tight assed or are there actually more nice people that I sometimes see?
Good with the bad, I'm afraid.

I got similar recently myself, from a guy who couldn't fiish a race himself.
Wasn't banned, merely griped at because he hit me several times after I spun from being hit from behind.
Got to learn to hit SHIFT-P fast enough to please some I guess.

In general though, I find most people on the race servers great blokes, and blokettes, drift and cruise servers I usually stay clear of, unless I want to spectate a little.
Yes, just because some one got the few bucks doesn't mean he's not an idiot; so you will find those people on S2 too, but majority is way more serious about the actual fun in racing.
Maybe at the moment there are many dongs around, but when the new patch is out, the level of proper racers will increase massively, guaranteed
Download a program called "Vehicle Handling and Performance Analyser" (VHPA). It is good for making setups and seeing roughly how the setup will handle in different phases of cornering.
