Hi there.
I am trying to re-format and re-install xp onto a PC however I cannot get it to boot from the CD. I have checked the CD drive works, The windows CD can be opened once XP has loaded but if I select install windows it errors with "Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer is newer than the version on the CD." I assume from this the CD is readable and physically checking there appear to be no major scratches. I have also checked the BIOS that CD is before HDD which it is.
Does anyone know of another way to get windows to boot from the CD?
Thanks, Greboth.

lol. I was using my keyboard which is USB but I found an old one which isn't so I plugged that in the remove any possible issues there. I will try and see what happens if I remove the hdd from the bios and see what happens.
I don't know what the problem is with the 2 I tired earlier but I 'borrowed' my sisters xp cd and it has worked, so it must be something with the cd's
