May seem stupid but i know their has been times personally when racing a
long race that i feel my setup isnt doing me any favours and to change the
setup you have to pit and start from 0 laps again so maybe have an opion
for when you pit allowing you to change your setup? And if someone does,
add another XX seconds to the stop?

Just a wee idea.

it should add ALOT of time..to make it a few seconds would be unrealistic, to change everything (tires, suspension, steering, gearing etc.) would take minutes...which im sure isnt worth it in the pits. too unrealistic of a feature imo.

During a race, hit F12 before pitting. Use up down left and right buttons to change options. You have quite a few things you can change to your setup, but obviously not the things that you'd have to retire from the race in real life. Then, when you make your next pit those changes will be made to your car.

The setup changes do add time to the pit stop that you THEN make, to effect the changes you've requested. All in all, more or less exactly what you're suggesting is actually there already
