Wasn't anything special fortunately. All of Hawaii just shut down and there wasn't anything that happened. Of course it is better to be safe than sorry. But the tsunami wasn't there

New Zealand beaches shut down as well. Even on the west coast which is the opposite side. Didn't stop anyone from swimming although the lifeguards weren't allowed to patrol.
