Obama Speech In School Spoof :D
If you're not aware, obama tried to get alot of schools in america to watch one of his speeches, pointless imo.

Anyway, these are my uncles best friends, they put on a redneck act on youtube and in that act they hate obama, anyway, heres the link, its hilarious.

Skip to about 2:00 for the funny part, the beginning is kinda boring. :P

May be alittle inappropriate for kids, lol.
What's wrong with Obama? He's 10x better then Bush...
I assume this is American humor?
Better than German humour. If you don't laugh, they kill you!

To understand why a large percentage of American's do not like Obama you have to understand the history and principles that the country was founded on.

It is quite amusing that while many claim that yanks are ignorant, it indeed is us that are the ignorant ones

I don't understand the USA, when the government tries to help the people with reforms to healthcare, everyone was furious and cried 'socialists!'. Its like the majority of the USA's people are still in the ridiculous frenzy they got whipped up into during the cold war, completely blind to the facts, and that the governtment is actually trying to help them for a change.

Help thy neighbour, but only if they can help themselves already.
Those that have got healthcare coverage aren't necessarily ready to give up a part of it, or to have to pay more for it, so that those without healthcare coverage can get it too. Unfortunately getting those 50 million or so uninsured people in the States coverage basically means some kind of government run healthcare, which is something a lot of people disagree with. Every time it's brought up, people against it just have to point towards Canada's healthcare system and shout: look how bad it is (it actually is very bad, but I'd rather keep mine than to get USA's). The big question is whether or not it would work in the USA. To know that... well I guess you can't really know until you try it. All I've seen so far about the matter are projections; possible outcomes of what a government run healthcare might be like. I can't get over the impression that nobody really knows how it would be.

Hence why people are raging about this. They have no clue what it would really be like, and they feel like nobody has. Therefore, they don't want things to change.

5haz showing typical ignorance there You don't understand the fundamentals of the American constitution which warns the people against an over bearing government. America is all about SMALL government BIG people. That's America's DNA! Do you disagree with that?

It hasn't really got anything to do with 'how it will turn out'. The whole point is many people do not want the government interfering with their lifes.

Then I guess wondering how it would be like is the next logical step in the process. At first they blatantly refuse it because it's the gov, then they wonder how it would be? Level of intelligence, maybe.

I know what the whole constitution is all about, just I think that part of it is completely daft. Whats the point in letting everybody have an opinion, when a lot of people have really stupid opinions? If you let this happen you end up with a country where stupidity rules, sounds familiar.

Then you don't understand the constitution!
Quote from Intrepid :Then you don't understand the constitution!

So why are there amendments to the constitution and things like the Patriot Act if America is all about small government and big people?

I dont undestand you.

Well done, you just described a democracy.

Well now you can understand why a lot of Americans have finally had enough,
Quote from 5haz :I dont undestand you.

How can you not like 'just that part' when it's the WHOLE FRICKIN' POINT of the constitution.

Anyway doesn't matter anyway. i'll let the yanks take over.

...but the point of the constitution is supposed to protect the people from the government. This isn't really happening, you admit this isn't happening (from your post above) but you're still trying to say that it is to prove your point. Which you're not.

There are other things in the constitution too, such as that all human beings are created equal (This is in a country that had Jim Crow laws enforcing segregation up until the late 1960s!).
The really hilarious point is all of the right-wing people protesting a government-sponsored healthcare program while they rely on Medicare and Medicaid.

And as usual Intrepid is an insufferable and ignorant twat.

I'm ignorant? Serious? I appear to be one of a few non-Americans that actually recognises the beef many Americans have regarding the Healthcare program. I have actually looked into the history of the whole thing. While I have yet to state what I agree with I don't have the closed mindedness of many on here.

i see both sides of the stories, and I am not one to instantly claim all Americans are 'stupid fat dumb ****s' like many other fools!
What I dont understand is how the right wing america can take something like "helathcare for all" and tranform that into "DEATH CAMPS FOR THE OLD"

I understand the history of America, and compared to others it is a very young country, however the close mindness of some over there who seem to be unable to accept simple facts (for instance Obama's nationality, despite the proof of a Birth Certificate) stagger and, to be honest, scares me.
Quote from Mackie The Staggie :What I dont understand is how the right wing america can take something like "helathcare for all" and tranform that into "DEATH CAMPS FOR THE OLD"

The fact is a lot of Americans do not want the Government telling them what health care they can or can't have.

For example, in the UK we have a monopoly. I do not have the freedom to use private healthcare because it's priced out of the market. Private healthcare is now only for the VERY rich. Instead I have to deal skanky NHS doctors and 3rd rate hospitals (which I have to pay to park in) in a system that saps £1,000,000 a minute!

Why am i forced into having to use 3rd rate healthcare? How is this fair?
Quote from Intrepid :The fact is a lot of Americans do not want the Government telling them what health care they can or can't have.

Or is it because of all the red scare propaganda of the 1950s there is now an ingrained fear of anything that may even be perceived to be slightly socialist in the states.

Hence why the left wing in the US just doesn't exist and they are left with the right wing Democrats and the extremely right wing Republicans.

Firstly it's not 3rd rate, unless you live in/near a dump. If so, then move.

Secondly, you're not forced at all. Go private. Borrow some money and go into debt. Or just die of whatever disease it is you want treating. That's always an "option" for you, unlike 50 million Americans. Nobody's forcing you to do anything.
