The Ford thread!
Since there is a Supra thread, so meh, lets make a Ford thread!
I hope there is someone in here who drives a ford apart from me
Well, I don't really "drive" mine.
I'm rebuilding it at the moment.
And because I'm 16 I can't drive it (18 years old for drivers license in Sweden).
Oh and my car is a 1988 Ford Thunderbird LX. Which is with the 5.0L v8 (302").
I'm currently putting in my fathers old engine (roughly around 250hp) and his old transmission with my own torque converter with 3200rpm stall speed
The reason for the high RPM on the torque converter is that I'm gonna dragracing it (did it 2 summers ago before I started rebuilding it).
And ofcourse I'm removing all the rust.
Someone has repaired it terribly bad!
The drivers door is all messed up, the underside of the drivers side is repainted terribly. The quarter panel of the drivers side has taken som beatings, probably a crash so that is a mess too but it doesnt show on the pictures because there was just whole lot of bondo over it >.<

I suck at taking pictures
Some old pictures:

Now, show your Fords!
good to see your trying to see some other people with your car on the forum just make sure you get people who like your cars on your thread and not people pissing on your thread like mine lol.

There is always douchebags!
Here's me then!

We already have a "Post Your Car" thread, so how about we stick to that? It's not brand-specific so anyone can post any car they own and the thread will remain busy.

i started the supra thread and imo i think there is no harm in that.
but maybe instead of this being the ford thread note how many ford models have been produced maybe just have it as a get together thread for thunderbirds only.
hence why my thread is the supra thread for supra people and not toyota thread.
There's not enough people own that particular brand and model of car to make a whole dedicated thread worth it. A Ford thread is going to have a handful of people posting in it, and most of them are going to be Focus and Fiesta owners. It won't last long.

Just like a Toyota thread would have mainly Corolla and MR2 owners and would die just as quickly.

There's only so many times you can have the conversation "yes I like my car" before everyone gets bored of it. That's what owners clubs are for.
I'm just waiting for the "I havent got a car yet but one day I'm dreaming of owning a [insert make/model here] thread"

Or..

The "Toys R'Us rollerblade owners club"
Atm I own 2 '90 Thunderbirds, both with the 3.8 supercharged V6. One of them is a 35th Anniversary one, with manual gearbox. Sadly it's in quite a bad shape, so no way I'm gonna mess with it, I'll just use it for spare main parts for the other.
So with the other one I have a few plans, but it's on hold due to the lack of money at the moment. I took it apart, only the suspension left, then it will get a new paintjob. Hopefully I'll have both cash and freetime in the summer to work on it.

well i mainly created the supra thread cos i know some people that have them that are on lfs and i want to see some more supra owners on here.
the post your car thread is good and all but i dont really have anything to talk about to other car owners: nice car, what are the mods, how long you had your car for ect ect.
besides there are heaps of supra owners so why not have a thread specially for them.
also im already in the supra club so ive joined a social club so i can discuss supras with them. i just wanted to see the supra people on here.
Who's ready for a lot of rice??

Its a 95' mondeo saloon Si. Started life as a 2.5 V6. Its had a 3.0 ST220 engine dropped in, with a forged ST200 air intake manifold. It then had the respray, the kit and suspension along with a mild brake upgrade. All this was done by my brother when he owned. I bought it off him about 6 months ago, and its a little different. The stupidly big wing has been removed. The engine has been rebuilt being fitted with Cams, valves, followers and valve springs from the Noble GTO (use's same engine), and has since been supercharged. I also fitted a Brembo brake kit (320mm front, 280mm rear), polybushes, GAZ front and rear coilovers/springs and a general tidy up. Its off the road atm while i do some more things to it. Im quite happy with it and love the way it looks, but everyone has there own taste, so im prepared to recieve abuse for it from some guy on here, but i dont mind. I have alot of plans for it in the future, one of which is to make it RWD using the current engine, but thats a big job so its not going to happen this year i dont think.

The other rice bucket (its not too rice imo..) is my S2 Escort RST. Its a mercury grey 90-spec. And i love it to bits. I've wanted one since i was 8 when my brother had one, and it has'nt dissapointed. I've not done much to it. Interior wise, its just had audio and a cosworth steering wheel. the exterior is stock apart from i got the wheels diamond cut, and the inside of the spoke sprayed black. Engine wise, its had a big-valve head fitted, front mount intercooler, exhaust/filter, map and chip, performance pulleys, uprated cams and valves. On the last rolling road session, it done 205hp, which im happy with. I dont think im going to aim for too much. Its so light, it would be undriveable with much more. Its still on the stock turbo (its got refurbed though) as i prefer the smaller turbo as theres very little lag.

Beautiful. I hope you get that thing finished soon!

Whoah, first one, not my style but the second one, taasty!
I like when people build them tasteful, imo the first is built without any taste but the second one, yummy!
Thanks for the comments. I understand that my car's wont be to everyone tastes, but i love the way the mondeo looks now. But hey, as long as the owners loves it, thats all that matters right?

My brother was 19 when he started modifying the car. He had it for just under 8 years, and it was the first car he modified so obviously, back then it looked cooler in his eyes due to being young, and its something most of us go through. Im happy with the way it looks now though, im just wondering about whether to put a stock bonnet back on...
So, thats a M3 Evo, a turbo'd Mini, a V6 Mondeo and a RST...

Are you even driving yet?
Theory is booked in a couple of weeks. The mondeo i bought due to my brother planning on selling it. I did'nt want it to be sold so i bought it. As for the RST, the guy brought it into work with a broken cambelt (which meant the inevitable broken cam's, bent valves etc.). It was abit rough body wise, and its done over 100k miles, so he was going to scrap it. I bought it for a few hundred and tidyied it up. I have the room, i dont see why i cant have as many cars as i like mate.
Not a dig, just can't understand why...

Where do you actually work? I could do with a job that seems to pay infinite money.

Sorry, but I can still see you the wrong way in a bush, or catching the bus, or...dare I say: worse.
I know its not a dig mate, i was just explaining why. In all honesty though? I cant explain why either. I honestly dont know why i've bought all these cars without a licence. I suspose a majority of it is down to my own stupidity, but at the same time, if i see a car i want, and i can afford it, then i tend to just go for it. Lifes to short i suspose.

As for my job, i work at a brabus dealership in "earls common". Its a fair few miles south west of my home.

Damn right!
The owners opinion is all that matters, except for a BMW in my town.
A guy has bought som AWEFUL hood "vents" which is "bolted" on with double side tape.
A "custom" tank filler cap, it's a sticker that looks like a race tank filler cap.
And an AWEFUL stupidly HIDIOUS wing ... Bolted wrong way forward

Hehe! I have seen a few like that. My favourite is when people fit "fake" badges to there cars. Things like "turbo" badges or "///M" badges when there car does'nt even have any of the above.
Lol, some girl senior year of high school had a 90's Thunderbird V8...

...this is the same girl that asked me to ride with her and had me explain to her what the lurches were (turned out it was that phenomena called changing gears). I mean we're talking no sense of anything, completely hopeless, and scary as hell driver. First time it snowed, she high-centered the car on a little mound of grass after sliding off the road. I stopped to help her, tried to get the car off but it was useless. The neighbor ended up getting out a farm tractor and we had to work the car off the mound strategically, lol. Even on FLAT grass with 1" of snow, if you didn't have your foot on the break, if the car was in gear, it would just start spinning the back wheels. Tractor had to pull me all the way across the lawn because it had NO grip. Not the car for that girl at ALL, lol.

Out of interest, do you have any pictures of how it looks now?
Quote from The General Lee :Out of interest, do you have any pictures of how it looks now?

Afraid not no. Like i said, i've only had it a few months, and most of that time its been in the garage stripped while i tidy up some of the rough edges (). I will take some for you after it's finished if you like?
Stop it, get off computer, go out to car, snap pictures, go back to computer, reply to this topic, put pictures in, post reply.

DOIT NAO!
Well in a way I agree with the post your car topic being enough and I have posted my 3dr there already, but at the same time I can't stop myself feeling this urge of posting mine.

I basically love RWD euro-Fords (some FWD ones can be nice too) and I drive this 3dr Sierra. May I say unfortunately it's only a Cossie looker. It has a 2 liter Pinto with ported and lowered head, tighter cam etc. and the goddamn Ford EEC-IV, but I'm not yet satisfied with the power delivery it's giving me.

I have owned it for 5 years, I actually bought it maybe a bit too early, when I was 15, but I'm very keen on it.

Its seems Barnie has decided to lie on your dash...

No but seriously, nice car bud. I've seen it on here before and it is a nice looking car!
