I can show you what is p2.gif

It's not only the wrong file (the BMW logo was part of the image containing the LFS logo at the top of the page), but also invalid html :P

Erm.. that's not bad HTML, actually. You'll be seeing that a lot in future. That's progression for ya

[EDIT] I should clarify that for any tag which is itself self-contained, the /> will be expected in future. The IMG tag is self-contained, so it requires this. Also you'll see other self-contained tags like <br> appear as <br /> and so on.
so friday at 12:01AM it will be available huh?

*waits*

I think the general feeling is that it'll be released at 3pm, GMT+1/BST

Yep, I use that on my own website, it's in the HTML 4.0 Specification (At lest I think it's 4.0 .)
That's in XHTML 1.0. The current HTML version is XHTML 1.1.

LoL what do you guess why I ADDED the slash there?

This is called "empty tag", as it has no end tag, and it is required for valid XHTML with XML Syntax. <br> is actually valid HTML, but not XHTML.
However, <br /> works also in HTML so its the way to go, just like for example writing all attributes in lower case.
i was browsing through the news archive on LFS Site and found this which should be appropriate...

Quote from [RCG]Boosted :screeny to ur avatar...doubt the patch will be R...yea i know would be next letter in the order but in the readme of the CMX viewer it says LFS 0.5S

That's because the CMX Viewer has been updated twice. At first R, and then they fixed a bug and now it's S.. so simple
Quote from DEVIL 007 :I told him the same already. He doesnt bealive however

where? haven't read it.

anyway, it's not i didn't notice it, i am just too lazy to change the picture again. i'd rather make a new one

That and the lowercase tag names (which was technically wrong but I've been doing forever anyways) are the two big changes to make HTML an XML compliant language, correct?

That's my understanding, yep. I've only been involved in developing one industry's XML schema, and haven't actually ever implemented it in code. For that, I beat up and bully a couple of other guys in our team

Compleeeeeeeeeetely off-topic...
