Anyone noticed this "Press E to use computer" issue? It's in the internet cafe, I'm pressing E but nothing happens. And yes, I'm connected to the internetz.

How far along the story are you? It might be that you have to do the mission first where you have to date a guy through Lovemeet.net.

This is very well documented on the R* site and the main GTA Forums..
The ONLY thing that causes this is...

Using a crack


Way to bypass it...fresh LEGITIMATE install, run updates, then grab the OFFICIAL no-dvd loader from the GTA forum site.
It must be bad if the publishers/securom actually release an 'official' crack...talk about admitting that you fscked up!

This gets me thinking, though... If they can make it so that illegitimate copies of the game don't have access to the in-game internet - which, by the way, is hilarious a lot of the time! - why don't they do that with all other things that add to the fun in the game?

You don't remember the permanent drunk driving, stuck throttle and exploding cars?

Was pretty bored yesterday so thought I'd pick this up for the PC as my 360 isn't with me atm.

I was skeptical when people said it looked much better than the console versions, but it REALLY does. Only running on medium settings at 1900x1200 on my 8800GTS320 with lowish framerates, but it does look great.

I'm stuck at 13.81% at the mission "Logging in" where I can't use the computers in the net cafe.

Or... A saved game around 14-15% would be also cool

No I don't, because I don't have it for the PC But all those things were "fixed" fairly quickly in the cracked versions, weren't they? So I wonder, how come they haven't found a way around Töki's problem? If they found a way around everything else, surely they can find a way around this? And if they can't, then why doesn't Rockstar use the same method to prevent the player from doing anything?

So does that mean that anyone with a cracked version can't get beyond that mission without loading a legitimate savegame from someone else?

You will need a LOT of savegames from other people to complete it, because there are loads of missions (both story and free roam) that need the internet.
Come on guys, its down to under £10.00 in Morrisons...gotta be worth a tenner!..Even if there are still a few (lots!) bugs to be ironed out.

My main gripes:
Stuff removed from game to increase framerates in patch 1.02
RSC10 errors in 1.02 if you use clip-capture.
Bloddy Haxx0rs online with "godmode" cheatz.
Bloody Haxx0rs online with SMG's that fire rockets.
Bloody Haxx0rs online spawning loads of cars to crash teh server

Do the patches help with much? I'm still on the release version, but have had no problems at all other than missing textures when I bumped the settings up way to high.

Also whilst I'm here, Bladerunner I remember you saying you picked up a 9800GTX 1GB not long ago, was it a special deal at the time? I'm just looking around and wonder if I should upgrade.

Patches dont do a lot, tbh, but avoid 1.02 like teh plague! 1.01 helped a bit, but 1.02 screwed up more than it fixed.

9800GTX 1Gb..had a few problems at first (see here!) I thought my card was burgered...but it turns out was a BIOS problem on the card..A quick flash with the latest firmware from Gigabyte sorted it with no problemo!
As for special deal...not really a special, but performance/price will take a LOT of beating on this card..I got mine from Dabs..(linky)
Problem is, they are out of stock again...they sell them as quick as they get them, so get in quick!

Are you all having no problem with securom's no-cd 'hack.' I tried it and the game started up without the disc but after about 5 minutes the camera goes into drunk mode.

Also, has anyone got a steering wheel working properly yet? The 1.02 patch says its supports wheels using profilers. Does that mean you can only use the wheel like an on/off switch?

Hey. I have got myself GTA4. I have seen pictures of mods that change car stats and make them go super fast etc, my question is - anyone have a link or have made a mod for themself? Meant for offline laugh

Ok now I reinstalled the whole game, didn't install the patches, and now it works.

Since the newest patch gta 4 should support wheels, was wondering if anybody tried that yet?

When i have my G25 plugged in, niko just spins around in circles.
However, that only occurs at the patches 1.01 and 1.02 here, it didn't make a difference if it was plugged in or not at the official release.

So it does recognize the G25, but not in a good way. I don't see a way of making it work either, as it messes up the menu too.

i say this again cos didnt get answer last time, you think do i have a problem in the game, or in xbox? the game crashes sometimes randomly and comes annoying specyally if it crashes in middle of a hard mission. i had this problem in one other game of mine, but the rest of em worked fine

Try turning "clip capture" OFF...there are still major memory-leak issues with that function!
Example...I have 1Gb vRAM..with Clip Capture on, runs out of video memory between 3 and 30 minutes of play...Turn it off, and I play for ....well....ever I suppose..no crashes! (longest stint in one go was 3+ hours)

k, sent a message to xbox support too about it, and asked what they think, is it xbox or the game. me and my friend tough it was about xbox overheating, he haves this kind of problem too, but its only if he's in place where the game goes really hard to graphics engine (like, in middle of big city with loads of cops nearby)

GTA IV needs more co-op missions...

Just ordered a S/PDIF cable for my PS3 to my soundcard. We shall see is IV any better turned up full blast in 5.1

I'm pissed off. I can't complete the misson where I have to go get Little J's drug which is kept by the Lost Bikers. Everytime the swat shows up I get killed.
