Viacom is asking for a 22 to 36 percent increase in carriage fees that TWC pays to Viacom to carry it's networks. TWC isn't having it so far it seems. I'm quite amused by the quote from the Viacom spokesperson who said that "the increase is in the very low double-digit range." Methinks she failed maths...I reckon that most would consider 22 to 36 a low, but not very low.
I know for my family on TWC, our rates have been going up bit by bit. It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the next week. 13 million people could be affected by this if these two parties don't strike a deal.
