Thanks for the heads up there.

I realise they do work at racing speeds, its just say when I make a mistake and have to slow down, or just when pulling out of the pits, starting a race or getting back on from a spin.

When I spin out, and try to get back on track - I spin out again cos the tyres just dont do anything.

The RA sucks. It handles like its tyres are coated in oil constantly. The cockpit is also ugly as sin.

And another point, interiors can be custom made for LFS, just like skins.

Quote from danowat :Ahh, the good ol' diesel stereotypes, diesel engines have come a LONG way in the last 3 or so years.
They no long produce anymore exhaust smoke than petrol engined car, plus they no longer sound like tractors......

Come on devs, surely it wouldnt be too hard to "tweak" the XF to make it have a diesel engine?.

Dan.

I raced a 3 Series BMW Turbo Diesel (M spec) at Bedford Autodrome. With the racing chip, it kicked out a lot of black smoke (not thick mind you). It didnt sound too bad, and was ****ing awesome coming out of the corners with all that torque.

Quote from al heeley :A real F1 car, in the hands of a young untrained amateur, is a deadly thing. If LFS is to remain true to its reality core, then by definition, an LFS F1 car sim will be beyond the ability of many people, to control and race safely and competitively.

This is an awful argument against implementing F1 cars into the game. However true this is, you cant deny the good racers and people that want faster and more powerful cars their right to have them cos some noobs cant get to grips with it.

This is where the Kick and Ban voting comes in very handy.

I like the idea of F1 cars in the game, and hope that the devs decide to implement them, with some decent sounds, unlike all current cars

And with regard to the A1GP cars, the FV8 is pretty much the same car. Just not as fast, good, or neat looking. And A1 is pretty awesome to watch... I was at Brands Hatch to see the inaugural A1GP.

I used to own a Rover 214Si 16v. Shit car really, and one day i decided i was going to scrap it. But the scrap yard closed. So i parked up outside and decided I wanted to blow the engine up. Went to a car park first of all, done some burn outs... valves bouncing, and way beyond the redline for quite long periods of time. The thing wouldnt die. So i took it back home, and sat in neutral revving. Redline for ages (about 6,500 to 7,000 RPM where redline begins at 6k). Still wouldnt blow. Although the temp guage did increase rapidly.

I eneded up selling the car to some dude for banger racing. Afaik, it's still going strong.

Just to point out, the car was about 13 years old, had 116k miles on the clock and had a head gasket replacement once.

none of the cars sound too good IMO. I especially hate the sound of the Formula V8, and I was very disappointed with it. Its just got no rasp, or power to the sound.

A Noble M400 or something similar looking/handling. Some Rally cars or more 4x4 drive type cars. Something a bit better than the Formula V8 like an F1 car, with DECENT SOUNDS!
Tyre Physiscs

Tyre physics for this game need fixing, rather than improving. They are way off at low speeds. For instance, I know for a fact that a car in full racing slicks will NOT spin off doing 20 to 30 mph. Yet in this game, most cars do.

I drive cars of varying types on track days every weekend (almost) in real life and I can tell you for a fact in this game the tyre physics aren't even close to real. I wouldn't usually compare games to real life situations, but this is supposed to be a simulation after all.

The speed:grip ratio is way off.

mmm yeah. an A1 GP set for the F08 would be good. Lets be honest, the F08 is pretty much identical to the A1 GP cars, not the F0X
Buying a license - payment bug/problem

Hi,

Although the problem is now resolved for me - since i used paypal to pay for a license in the end - there is still a bug in your ProtX payment system.

It simply refused to accept my perfectly valid debit card as a valid payment method. I have a Visa Electron debit card, which is clearly indicated as being accepted and there is an option for it in the payment method selection. However, every time i attempted to fill the form out (all fields filled in correctly) the system would refuse the payment method. The payment method is a drop down list of set selections, and it wouldn't accept it no matter what card type i chose.

This could do with fixing, cos i don't really like paypal.

Cheers,

vpr out.
