Quote from smith :The lower the number - more stable one's lap times are.

Thanks smith. Please could you explain what the numbers actually mean, taking this as an example?

1. Rudi Reinkort (RudiTurbo) 0.19 +0.00 72
2. Pierre Closset (Sazea) 0.22 +0.03 71

Quote from Bob Smith :Yeah, it's almost like some people post just to get there post count up...

Never, who would do such a thing?

Quote from Rumiko :well, I'm not a pro, but quali sets for GTR cars usually have:
- Negative camber for better grip in corners (front wheels around -3, and rear ranging from -1 to -5).
- R2 slicks only
- lower pressure on rear wheels for better grip (which is good on slower tracks like blackwood, fern bay and south city). High pressure (180 - 200KPa) improves your top speed and tyres cool down very quickly on long straights.
- lowering downforce can also improve top speed, but it pretty much changes how the car handles, so I rarely change this one.

Many thanks Rumiko. Do you know if the same would apply to the FOX?
Turn a good race set into a qually set

Possibly a really dumb question, but if I've found a race set that I'm really happy with are there any general rules for tweaking it for qualifying (low fuel, warm the tyres up quicker etc.)?

Edit: The set in question is for the FOX on Aston National, in case anyone wants to go into specifics

Quote from BlackSpider :Does it say S2 licensed on your screen, too? I just want to be sure it's not just my end going la-la-giddy-foot on me.

Yup, it says you're S2 Licensed from here.

I'll second that
MSFF Wheel Cover?

Anyone got any idea where I might be able to purchase/borrow/steal a wheel cover for my MSFF? Does such a thing exist?

The original rubber is split in a few places, makes longer sessions pretty uncomfortable, and although a DFP is tempting I'm hoping a (leather?) cover will tide me over.

Quote from Dilligaf :I have seen a couple people on here playing the game on 2 monitors allowing for a wider Field of View and i wanted to know how they did it...when i try the 2nd monitor freaks out...BTW I have a nvidia 6600gt agp vid card

You need to set nView Display Settings to Horizontal Span, so that your desktop stretches over both monitors. Then in LFS Screen Options set 'Show Non-Square Modes' to Yes and you should see the dual-width resolutions available.

Any good?

Quote from Samiad :Second race was ruined because I thought we were going to have a 5 min gap and start the race at 21:05 (teletext time lol) but as I just about left the room the race started so I missed the start.

You should have joined anyway mate... there were only 11 finishers. I had a disaster of a feature race, mulitple spins (all my own fault I think), a drive-thru... and still managed 9th so get a couple of points., I'm well happy with that, top ten was my goal

Gotta admit I'm glad Blackwood is over, it's definately my least favourite track. Onto Aston National we go

I'm running a dedicated server under Wine (20050628), on Debian Sarge (2.6.8-2-386). Seems pretty stable, haven't noticed any problems, but it's not used very much I must admit.
