I would say being a KA it is probably the coilpack, but if it hasn't been serviced for that long you are probably best changing the plugs and leads while you are at it.

Though given the age and time since plugs were last changed, you may even struggle the remove the plugs as they have a habit of not budging

I haven't, but I hear they are awesome! The only down side to them is that they are incredible expensive to repair if they go wrong

Renault...no comment

I'd go for the Polo, but I'm biased because I own an older generation GTI

Your spring clip is on wrong! It should hook from the caliper to the carrier!

They can be awkward to put in, but if you put the bottom one in first, then get a pair of pliers on the top part and twist it in, should pop in

I bought them 2nd hand and 2 of them have to be straighten out,it not noticeable but you can feel it on high speed... they look good though on the car.

Yeah they are really weak alloys unfortunately, but they do look nice

Go easy with those alloys, Ford decided to make them out of toffee and they buckle if you breath on them

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Galvanisation only holds back the rusting process for so long and by having mud/dirt/shit stuck under the arches all the time holding moisture against the metal, you're just encouraging rust. Most Ford guys will roll the lip and then seal it (silicone in along the edge of the lip to stop shit getting in and the a coat or two of standard underseal), purely because Ford use the shittiest grade steel available.

Haha yup, in the two years I had my Escort my arches went from pristine to shagged. I do miss my Escort at times
