Quote from MicroSpecV :Thing is, (with speculation, of course with everything), if it is indeed derived from the Arab/Saudi highway drift thing - They have to learn. It is not the same as traditional "classic" drifting. It's ridiculously disruptive; the incompetant swaying side to side at speed and basically disrupting the traffic and at certain times, wiping people out.

And then when confronted nicely, their lack of english capability makes it a PITA to converse. And even if they understand, they do it again.

and it doesn't just occur on TC - CLC, even non cruise servers like our Demo GTi, or league practice sessions (Heck, I've seen a person arab drift in a FZR).
If they don't seem to learn (even after non-aggressive means) then sure, I guess bans are the only thing else left. They need to understand that servers have their rules, and that you can always go to one of the multitude of Drift servers or pop open a local LAN to drift with friends.

Yeah.

It's been a sore spot for a while for both the admins and players.

It's not that all of them cause trouble. A small percentage do. It is possible that the majority of trouble in the server is from players connecting from Saudi Arabia, with Arabic names or speaking Arabic in chat.

Quote from justadroover :Can we at least see an example of this "racism"? Are we suffering for a severe case or some SJW bullc**p?

TC has banned players for "Saudi drifting". I believe it's typically the drivers who can't speak English and/or are disrespectful/unresponsive in chat who are banned.

There may be a lower tolerance from some admins towards Arab players drifting--it's common to see drifting on TC go unpunished, except by the "police" through the InSim and money system.

I'm just trying to be realistic in my wishes. You know?
S3 car ideas--XRC, XRS, and UFM

XRC - "Club" spec. Coilovers (independent bump and rebound damping), square, lower profile tires, an option to run super tires, maybe an adjustable lip and carbon ducktail spoiler? Higher rev limit, like 8500, a few extra hp, and a torque peak closer to redline but decent torque at low revs, no VTEC hump. 148 lb-ft at 6200 and 183 hp at 7800-ish.

XRX/XRS - Turbo X spec. Square tire widths. Small front splitter and a conservatively-sized carbon-fiber adjustable rear wing, or a ducktail spoiler. Maybe even a diffuser bumper. Doesn't have to be a lot of downforce at either end, just enough to meaningfully differentiate from the XRT. Less turbo lag. A higher torque peak, like 7k. 230 lb-ft at 5000 and 276 HP at 7000 or something. A 6-speed transmission wouldn't hurt.

Bonus points: Gutted interiors. No rear seats, panels, or radio. Racing seat and wheel. Bolt-in roll cage. Muffler delete. Fixed headlights like the XRR. New wheels.

UFM - UF1 Modified. Really, an LSD option is the only thing it desperately needs. Sway bars are a close second.

Similar cases could be made for all of the street cars, but the above 2 and UF1 are my top picks.

Any thoughts?

Quote from drum-beats :What is happening is that the surface of the tyre gets that hot it starts to melt slightly, so effectively you are 'skating' on top of a layer of molten rubber.

So, dampened heat transfer from the tread to the carcass would reduce carcass heat? Or a way to simulate heat loss in lost rubber?

I tend to start spinning when drifting around 70-80 degrees rear tire heat in any setup unless I change my approach dramatically.

Disable autoclutch slipping when rolling faster than ~15 kph.
Separate throttle, brake and particularly clutch axis delinearity.

Someone tried to tell me when he took his car to a track it was easier to drift once the tires "warmed up"...I later considered he could have heat-cycled them enough times to harden them...other than that I can't imagine a reason a tire would lose such a substantial percentage of it's grip without dipping it in some kind of acid or setting it out in the sun for 20 years between laps.

I appreciate the current heat system as requiring smooth driving and balanced tunes, though I think it would be fairer to have a more realistic heat mechanic and a per-race tire wear multiplier option.

Better might be an option to disable the chat sound for certain players, or in general. I find that more distracting than the text.

It didn't make sense to release the game with the heat this way in the first place. I'm not seeing your point.

Thanks taipalsaari, I already do.

ProTweaker seems to accelerate cooling linearly. NewTweakOrder seems to affect it nonlinearly,so in the right conditions, rear tires can stay around 60-80 while drifting until they wear out.

Tire stagger ruins the XRGs handling, and, to a lesser extent, the XRTs. If I put them on square tires with NTO they're much sweeter to drive and drift.

Quote from cargame.nl :It makes no sense to only change the heating/cooling of the tires. Especially not after eight years of development. Everybody would laugh.

Why would anyone laugh? They're either desperate to see something change or already gone.

Both seem, to my hardly-educated guess, trivial, against the tyre mesh and deformation code.

What about your G27?
I'm pretty sure the "dead zone" is sidewall flex. I feel it with my T500RS, not just in a straight line either.
