Quote from AndroidXP :The hotter it gets, the less torque it will be able to transfer. If you extremely overheat it you won't be able to move the car anymore, as too little torque is transmitted from the engine to the wheels. A slightly overheated clutch doesn't have a big effect on laptime, though. The first thing you'll notice when it gets hotter is the revs needing longer to drop down after a shift.

u just made me doubt about what went wrong in the race again >_<
i didnt throttle cut on upshift as far as i remember
hard to see in the mpr
and i didnt have a WHOLE lot of "popcorn"-sounds coming from the engine

Hi,

im kinda new to LFS
and i just did my first "longer" race
which i was winning untill something in my car broke down and my laps began to be slower o_o

im still not sure what excactly broke (i think its my engine) and have no clue what i was doing wrong

heres a link to the mpr (my ign = menTaL):
http://files.mlbox.be/1hrace.mpr
it starts becoming noticable at around lap 13

also..
what are the effects on laptimes and engine/clutch-wear of throttle blipping on downshift and thr cut on upshift?

ps: i use mouse, manual shift, autoclutch
ps2:are there any good leagues with weekly races for beginners which i can join?

cheers
