Round 7 :: May 9th, 2016

Track: Westhill International [WE2]
Cars: XRT

Qualifying Mode: 10 minutes 2-shot
Race Mode: 35 laps incl. 2x mandatory pit stops with a minimum stationary time of 25s
Special Feature: Wind during qualifying and the race

Qualifying

Each driver will have a maximum of two attempts to achieve the fastest possible lap time. Each attempt is charged once the driver has left the speed-restricted part of pit lane. It is not permitted to do both attempts right after each other, you must jump to the pits or spectate after completing your first timed lap. When leaving pit lane, all drivers are asked to keep as far left as possible and also to not cross the pit exit blend line. Since time and track position will be a bit tight with this duration of qualifying, we expect everyone to behave and not trip over each other. All drivers are asked to leave adequate gaps to those in front of them before going on a hot lap, it's within every drivers own responsibility to do so.

Should a driver receive a penalty during qualifying, receiving a DT for speeding in pit lane for example, he must serve that penalty as soon as possible! Penalties which aren't served will lead to the drive in question being moved to the back of the grid!

After the time has elapsed and the last attempt has been either completed or aborted, all drivers are asked to park there car in pit lane and to not enter the track itself!

Race

Just like in the first ever CL event in the year 1831, there will be a laglap before the actual start of the race. Since Westhill is wider than most tracks are, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to navigate the first few turns safely. However, this doesn't mean that overly optimistic or poorly executed maneuvers are acceptable.

During the race, there will be two mandatory pit stops with a total minimum stationary time of 25 seconds across both. These pit stops can be made at any point during the race except for the last lap. Whether any work is done to the car during this stop, is up to the drivers.

Additional Information

Everyone is asked to respect the rules on chatting. During all sessions, chat is always automatically closed unless the race administrator opens it.

Round 6 :: April 25th, 2016

Track: Aston Grand Prix [AS5]
Cars: FO8

Qualifying Mode: 15 minutes with race fuel
Race Mode: 31 laps including a mandatory pit stop

Qualifying

During qualifying all drivers will be able to complete as many laps as they wish. The difference to a normal timed qualifying session is that all drivers are only allowed to leave the pit lane once and must do so with the setup and fuel load they intend to start the race with. Every driver who jumps to the pits or spectates the session will automatically be disqualified from the session and has to start the race from the back of the grid. As always the following rules are also in force: The pit exit blendline is not to be crossed by any parts of the car and it's every driver's own responibility to leave large enough gaps to the cars in front before going on a hot lap.

Should a driver receive a penalty during qualifying, like a DT for pit lane speeding, then he must serve this penalty at the earliest opportunity. Not doing so will result in the affected driver being moved to the back of the grid!

When the session time has expired, all drivers are asked to drive back to the pit lane and park their car there. No driver will be allowed to keep circulating to further practice laps.

Race

As always, the race will start with a laglap. Due to the race fuel qualifying mode, drivers who jump to the pits during the laglap will receive a stop-go penalty after the race start.

Since the FO8 is a car which heavily relies on downforce to achieve its performance, all drivers are asked to be extremely careful in the first few laps of the race as well as in battles with other competitors! The distance to the first turn, as well as to the first hairpin just before the end of the first sector, is quite long. It is possible for a single rash maneuver from any driver to ruin the race of multiple drivers.

To make the race a bit more interesting there will also be an element of strategy in form of a mandatory pit stop. Drivers will be free to decide on whether they do any work on their cars or not. Since there is no specific pit window, the pit stop can be made in any lap except for the final lap. Of course, the pit exit blend line must not be crossed when doing so.

I hope there will be a few dates for testraces, because it is new track and stuff. In past the testraces have also been helpful for people to form teams.

The plan was always to post the announcement here, wait 2 weeks and then post it over in the Cityliga forum and on our FB page.

Track: Fern Bay Gold [FE3]
Cars: LX4

Qualifying Mode: 10 minutes timed
Race Mode: 50 laps including 2 mandatory pit stops

Qualifying

When the session time has expired, all drivers are asked to park their car in pit lane and to not go on track!

Race

As always, the race starts with a laglap. For the actual start, everyone is asked to not take any unjustifiable risks through the first corner and the following chicane!

To make the race a bit more interesting there will also be an element of strategy in form of two mandatory pit stops. Drivers will be free to decide on whether they do any work on their cars or not. Welcome to the CITYLIGA 8 hours of Rockingham International!

All teams are welcome to enter the event. Each must consist of at least two drivers, but no more than four.

For now no team may sign up more than two cars. Only the event administration may give permission to enter more cars. Should the pick-up rate be very low, that permission will be automatically granted. Teams who do sign up multiple cars must have unique line-ups for each entry..

Please submit your sign-up in the following format or it will not be considered:

Dear LFS Community,

Due to the success of the last couple of events, we once again have decided to run an endurance race, our fifth event of that type, after the end of Cityliga 22!

Conveniently, a new track was released at the start of the year with Rockingham finally being made available to us all. So what would be more fitting than running an endurance race there. Just as last time, we will run an 8 hour long race, with GT2 cars, around a slightly modified version of the Rockingham International [RO7x] circuit that bypasses the oval T1 chicane, to make sure we have a safer pit exit. For a change, the first of this year's endurance races will also take place on a Sunday for the first time, with the start time adjusted accordingly to make sure people don't fall asleep when they're at work the following day. All teams and drivers are welcome to enter, regardless of whether you have taken part in CL22 or any Cityliga season ever, come along for what will be a good, old endurance race!

Unfortunatly we did not reach our self-imposed sign up limit of 16 teams. This means that the event will not happen as planned. So that your practice doesn't go to waste, we will do a smaller substitute event. As planned, we will meet on the server (CityLiga Grid 1) at 13:00 CEST (UTC+2). We will build the grid accordingly to the tracker followed by a 2 hour race. In this event the individual drivers of teams can also compete individually, but driver changes are also possible. If you have to rejoin the race again (e.g, after a rollover), you also get your laps back (minus one penalty lap).

Round 4 :: March 28th, 2016

Track: South City Long [SO4]
Cars: FXO Turbo [+4%] and RB4 GT

Qualifying Mode: 15 minutes hardcore
Race Mode: 41 laps including a mandatory pit stop with a change of all tyres

Qualifying

During qualifying all drivers will be able to complete as many laps as they wish. The difference to a normal timed qualifying session is that all drivers are only allowed to leave the pit lane once. Every driver who jumps to the pits or spectates the session will automatically end their qualifying session and will not be allowed to go back on track again.

When the session time has expired, all drivers are asked to park their car in pit lane and to not go on track!

Race

As always, the race starts with a laglap. For the actual start, everyone will be asked to act with caution since the track is much narrower once you get to T1. It wouldn't be the first time that a driver, who brakes too late on the inside of the track, hits multiple cars at once and causes chaos, so please remember that when you enter the corner at a sharper angle, you'll have to slow down more.

To make the race a bit more interesting there will also be an element of strategy in form of a mandatory pit stop in which the all four tyres must be changed. Since there is no specific pit window, the pit stop may be made in any lap except for the final lap. Of course, the pit exit blend lines must not be crossed when doing so.

Race Mode: 16 laps followed by 32 laps [grid for race 2 = qualifying results with inverted top 10]

Qualifying

Each driver will have a maximum of two attempts to achieve the fastest possible lap time. Each attempt is charged once the driver has left the speed-restricted part of pit lane. It is not permitted to do both attempts right after each other, you must jump to the pits or spectate after completing your first timed lap. When leaving pit lane, the yellow blendline is not to be crossed. You may only join the track at the end of the blend line just before T1. Since all drivers should have more than enough time for both of their attempts, all of them are asked to leave adequate gaps to those in front of them before going on a hot lap, it's within every drivers own responsibility to do so.

Race

Just like in the first ever CL event in the year 1831, there will be a laglap before the actual start of the races. Please be careful on the approach to T1 and also the remainder of both races. It could be that you're side by side with one or multiple cars. On top of that, you will also have to deal with the draft of cars ahead of you once you get to the first braking zone. Reckless maneuvres should be avoided at all cost, better think about it twice before you put your own or someone else's race at risk! Sprint races do not exclude sportsmanlike behaviour on track.

There will be no mandatory pit stops in this race, however, the yellow pit exit blendline will be enforced regardless!

Race Mode: 44 laps incl. a mandatory pit stop with a minimum length of 5 seconds

Qualifying

During qualifying, all drivers will be allowed to to complete as many laps as they wish, and may also jump to the pits should they want to. When leaving pit lane, you may only enter the track after the end of the yellow pit exit blend line (end of the blend line = end of the cut off part of the blend line). Please make sure that you don't interfere with other drivers' qualifying laps when you're on an out lap. However, this does not mean that a slower driver must give way to a faster driver when they're on a timed lap themselves. It's every driver's responsibility to leave a reasonable gap to any cars in front of him before starting a hot lap himself.

Should a driver receive a penalty during qualifying (e.g.: a DT for pit lane speeding), then he has to serve the penalty at the earliest opportunity! Not serving the penalty will lead to the driver in question being moved to the back of the grid!

After the time has elapsed and all drivers have completed or aborted their final attempt, every driver is asked to park their car in their garages and to not go back out on track!

Race

Just like in the first ever CL event in the year 1831, there will be a laglap before the actual start of the race. We're asking to you be especially careful in the first few laps, it's better to lift and brake early than doing it too late! The track simply isn't that wide and there's not room to take evasive action either. There's no reason to enter corners three or four wide in the very first race of the season.

During the race, there will be a mandatory pit stop with a minimum stationary time of 5 seconds. This pit stop can be made at any point during the race except for the first and last laps. Whether any work is done to the car during this stop, is up to the drivers.

The grid qualifying for Cityliga 22 will be run from Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 00:00:00 CET to Friday, February 12, 2016 at 23:59:59 CET. Being the only GQ of the season again, the combos of the first two rounds, meaning GTIs at South City Town rev. [SO5r] and FOX at Westhill National rev. [WE1r], will be used.

Cityliga GridQuali A: XFG and XRG @ South City Town Course rev. [SO5r]
Cityliga GridQuali B: FOX @ Westhill National rev. [WE1r]

Every participant will have exactly 10 laps on each combo to try and achieve the fastest possible lap time. Due to this restriction, the grid qualifying servers aren't exactly suited for practice laps, since exceeding the lap limit will be penalised as described in the regulations (at the latest after the end of GQ).

An attempt will be charged once the first split time is displayed on-screen! Until then, you're free to abort your attempt at any point (either with Shift+P/S or through the menu) without it being charged.

The number of already driven laps will be displayed in the tracker as well as in-game when you leave pit lane. Should something in this regard have gone wrong, please inform us as quickly as possible, either through posting here or by writing a PM! The responsibility to report problems lies solely with those affected by them!

On combinations with multiple car models, you will be free to switch between them. However, laps will not be charged per car, but as a whole! There is also no obligation to run the car you used to set your best time in grid-qualifying in the race that follows. Should a driver set lap times without handicaps in a car that must carry an air restrictor or added mass, those lap times will not be counted, but the attempts will still be charged!

Since this is also an official part of the season, do please follow the rules regarding in-game names, especially when it comes to driver numbers.

It isn't mandatory to participate in GQ, however, those who don't and do on top of that not have a Greencard will automatically be put on the waiting list, meaning that they do not have a guaranteed slot in a grid.

We always try to make sure that new sign-ups are added to the tracker as quickly as possible. However, this is not an automated process, it is done by hand and can therefor not always be done immediately. Even if your name has not been added to the tracker yet, you're free to drive your GQ laps at any point after signing up. The laps will be recorded in any case, even without being displayed in the tracker. They will be shown as soon as you've been added.

Qualifying

During qualifying, all drivers will have a maximum of two attempts to achieve their fastest possible lap time. Every attempt is charged once you have left the speed limited part of pit lane. You may only do a single hot lap during each attempt, doing both attemps in one go is not permitted. When leaving pit lane, please pay attention to the yellow blend line on pit exit. Since there is more than enough time for all drivers to drive their qualifying laps, all drivers are asked to leave large enough gaps to the cars in front of them before going on a hot lap.

Should a driver receive a penalty during qualifying, for example a DT for pit lane speeding, he must serve that penalty at the earliest opportunity! Not serving your penalties will lead to you being moved to the back of the grid!

After the time has elapsed and the last attempt has been either completed or aborted, all drivers are asked to park their car in pit lane!

Race

Before the actual start: Laglap! For the start proper, please make sure you pay attention to the cars around you. The cars may all be in the same car class, however their ability to execute standing starts varies greatly. The distance to the first corner and braking zone is quite short, but it's advised to take care and stick back rather than trying to win the race in the very first turn, especially with such variety of cars on-track.

There will be no mandatory pit stops in this race, the yellow pit exit blend line will be enforced regardless, should any of the drivers elect to pit for any reason!

Qualifying

When qualifying starts all drivers will be in spectator mode. The admin will call up all present driver in reverse championship order. When a driver is called up, he'll join the session and leave the pit lane. As always, no driver will be allowed to cross the very long, yellow pit exit blendline when leaving pit lane. It's advised that all drivers are to complete their out-lap in a timely manner to make sure as many cars as possible can be on-track at the same time. Once a driver has finished his run, he must spectate as quickly as possible.

Should a driver receive a penalty during his run, for example a DT for pit lane speeding, he must complete this penalty at the earliest opportunity! Not serving penalties will lead to the driver in question being moved to the back of the grid!

After the time has expired, all drivers are asked to park their car in the pit lane and to not lap the track!

Race

As usual, the race will start with a laglap. The walls are close, and so are your opponents. Don't forget that any mistake you make can influence other drivers' races. Even if parts of the track like the motorway can make it tempting to approach the next turn 3-wide, we absolutely cannot recommend it.

There will be no mandatory pit stops in this race, however, to complete the race distance all drivers will most probably have to refuel at some point. How you handle it will be up to you, just remember to pay attention to the yellow blendline when exiting pit lane!

Round 7 - FZ 50 GTR & XR GTR @ Aston Historic
Deutschland2007
S3 licensed
Round 7 of 9 :: November 2nd, 2015

Track Layout: Aston Historic [AS4]
Cars used: FZR [with 20kg of ballast] and XRR

Qualifying Mode: 15 minutes timed [no limitations]
Race Mode: 39 laps

Since the tracker still isn't available and with almost half the time that was available to set a qualifying time having passed already, we have decided to change the qualifying mode for round 7 to a pre-race 15 minute longed timed qualifying session. None of the times that have been completed so far have been recorded and they will not count towards the grid positions on race day. We are aware that we're making this change on relatively short notice and that it will lengthen the race day track running, however, we do still consider it the fairest solution to our problem.

The grid qualifying is not affected by this issue.

Qualifying

During qualifying, all drivers will be allowed to complete as many laps as they desire and may also jump to the pits with Shift+P/S at any point if they wish to do so. Do also not forget to pay attention to the yellow exit blend line whenever you leave the pit lane! You may only go across to the other side of the track after the end of the line. Please also make sure to not hold up drivers during their hot laps, this however doesn't mean that slower drivers have to jump out of the way of faster cars at a moment's notice just because they weren't able to time the gap to the car in front of them properly. It's every driver's own responsibiliy to keep a suitable gap to the cars around him during the session.

Should a driver receive a penalty during qualifying, getting a drive-through penalty for pit lane speeding for example, then he must serve that penalty immediately! If you don't serve your penalty you will lose your grid position and have to start from the back of the field.

After the time has elapsed and the last attempt has been either completed or aborted, all drivers are asked to park their car in pit lane!

Race

The race, as per usual, will start with a laglap. It takes quite a while to reach the first corner from the grid, which also appears to be quite wide at first, but with pretty much every line into ending up on the left-hand side edge of the track, that width can deceive very easily. Please be prepared for it, nobody can win a 90 minute long race in the first corner, especially not on such a drafting track.

There will be no mandatory pit stop in this race, but all cars will have to refuel and most likely also have to change tires to make it to the end of the race. How you handle it is up to you, just make sure you don't cross the yellow exit blend line when leaving pit lane!

Additional Information

The decision wheter both grids drive on one server or not, will be announced in the TeamSpeak briefing and depends on the number of withdraws for the race.

Everyone is asked to respect the rules on chatting: During all sessions, chat is always automatically closed unless the race administrator opens it.

These are my predictions, and yes, they're not very original, but hey. Usually, any car I pick ends up blowing up or crashing, so I'm going safe.

LMP1: #7 Audi R18 e-tron quattro [Audi Sport Team Joest]
LMP1 privateer: #12 Rebellion R-One - AER [Rebellion Racing]
LMP2: #38 Gibson 015S - Nissan [JOTA Sport]
LMGTE-Pro: #51 Ferrari 458 Italia [AF Corse]
LMGTE-Am: #98 Aston Martin V8 Vantage [Aston Martin Racing]

Seeing as there are only four entries for the NGT class now, the class will be dropped from the event. Any teams who intended to enter are welcome to take part in the GTR class instead.

-----------------------

We decided to wait until Sunday (June 7th) before we make a decision. Should there not be at least half a dozen NGTs until midnight that day, the NGT class will not run and only GTRs will be allowed in the race.

----------

There are only 2 days and roughly 4 hours left to go in the 4th Grid-Qualifying for CL20! So far only 8 drivers have set a lap time, so hurry up, you don't have much time left!

The fourth CL20 Grid-Qualifying runs from Mon 25.05.2015 22:00:00 UTC until Fri 05.06.2015 21:59:59 UTC with the FOX on Fern Bay Black reversed.

Every participant has 10 laps on this combo to set a fast time. The GridQuali-server aren't server for training and every lap driven too much will be penalized as written in the rules at the end of the GQ.

A lap counts with passing the first split. You are able to cancel a lap before the first split without debiting your lap account.

You can check your driven laps both in the tracker and ingame after leaving the pitlane. If something is wrong or problems occur it's your responsibility to tell us via PM or write a post in the related thread immediately.

Because the GridQuali is an official part of the season please drive with your starting number and ingame-name according to the rules.

There is no duty to participate in the GQ, but laptimes naturally increase the chances of a place in a (highest possible) grid.

We are always trying to applicate new sign-ins as fast as possible into the tracker (e.g.). However, this is a purely manual process and can't always be done immediately. Even if your name is not appearing in the Tracker, you can drive laps right after sign-in as they are recorded in any case, even without displaying in the tracker. This follows then as soon as we have added you into it.
