Quote from JackCY :Will equal tires be enforced or XFG can freely use unequal tires by using rally tires on a road track?

Personally I would prefer for all tires to be the same on a car, even fixed to a specific compound.

No rules on tyres.

Quote from Muc :Grid 2.
I have 2 questions:
1. I was 5th after qual, but before start someone droped me down to 11th. When i ask why, dont rememer who, but he told me that it is penalty from prev race. How it is possible if it was my first race in this league?

2. Is there are no penaltys that you dont take a pit? Or maybe there is some kind of immunity? Still talking about 2nd grid and number 130.

Your penalty was correct, you confirmed too late, that's an automatic rear-of-grid penalty. Only the reason for the penalty you were told was incorrect.

Car 130 has been removed from the scoring positions of the race result, not making a pitstop is an immediate disqualification. It was overlooked, it won't happen again.

Quote from R@fiXII :Session of Incident : Race, grid 2
Protestor's LFS Lap: 1st
Timecode of Incident :2:58
Your Car number: 149
Protested Car number(s): 092
Brief description of incident: There was a bit of mess on that corner, but driver in 092 just pushed into the group of cars resulting in hitting me, what in addition with his ping at around 500 rolled me and I couldnt continue the race.

As it is impossible to know how the incident would have ended up without the severe lag, no penalty will be awarded.

Quote from fadeaway :Session of Incident (Race):
Protestor's LFS Lap: warm-up lap
Timecode of Incident : 2:50
Your Car number: #66
Protested Car number(s): #19
Brief description of incident: This gotta be fastest DNF ever.. So, Mr. Wdowiarz tried to overtake me on the left before s/f line where there was space for only 2/3 width of his car between my car and the wall. Offc since two solid objects can't occupy same space in the same time (at least in lfs) we collided and i had to retire . Pity.

Car 019 hits Car 066 turning it sideaways and pushing it along until Car 066 rolls over, not going off the throttle up until that point. Due to this and the chaos caused by others attempting to avoid this incident Car 019 will be awarded a post-race SG penalty.

Quote from mbutcher :I still don't see how it's fair for someone in grid 1 to finish 12th and get less points than the victor in grid 2.

Grid 1 points should surely range from 400-200 and grid 2 from 200-1 if you're insisting on splitting the points over 2 grids?

We do this way because the fastest guy(s) in Grid 2 are almost never slower than the midfield in Grid 1, why should they then get fewer points than a guy who got lucky to get into Grid 1 and then cruises around well off the pace of the fastest drivers?

Quote from ventspils_619 :
Really, winners in both grids receive equal points for sprint races?Or may I misunderstand something?

No, it's an error, I forgot to check the points table before posting it. I was still messing around with it last week. Points for a Grid 2 feature race are equal to Grid 1 sprints.

GTi Trophy 2014: Announcement

Announcing the 2014 Genuine Racing GTi Trophy!

OVERVIEW

Genuine Racing's GTi Trophy returns! After the very successful inaugural season in the autumn of last year, we're happy to announce the comeback of what already then was a very popular series. The format will be similar to that seen last year, with the event being split over three days, pre-qualifying on the first two and the main event including qualifying and the race(s) on the third. What has changed though is the amount of track time: For the main event, qualifying has been reduced from 20 minutes to 15 minutes, with the race distance has been extended to about 60 minutes for each event. The race formats will follow the Turbo Trophy approach from last year: In three of the six events we will see one 60 minute long feature race, in the other three we will see two 30 minute long sprints.
To give as many people as possible the chance to race, we will again be using two grids for all events where the demand for it requires it. Unlike in previous seasons, the grids will be split evenly, meaning that we will try to always make sure there are an equal amount of cars on both servers.

As has become standard for our events, pre-qualifying will take place from Friday 18:00 UTC to Saturday 18:00 UTC. The main event will take place on Sunday, with qualifying starting at 17:45 UTC, the (first) race at 18:10 UTC and the second race (if applicable) at 18:45 UTC.

As always, all LFS drivers and teams are welcome to compete! There will again be a drivers' and teams' championship on the line, with the two top-scoring drivers from each event getting the points for the teams' standings, regardless of their grid.
