This is the only thing that could ever get NASCAR to open their eyes probably. I'm rooting for it and aiding it. Might look into a Pocono or Indy trip this year
I guess I look at it in a different way. I always have had NASCAR to fall back upon if nothing else on Sundays or Saturdays, but I always have enjoyed it for the championship chase more so than the individual race.
Individual races lose integrity with me with the fake debris cautions and cautions for the most innocent of incidents (involving no contact a few times even). Add on top of that a championship that feels fabricated in an even more severe way to my mind, and the whole series has lost almost all of it's value. The only thing going for it is familiarity, and the arenas which continue to shrink on a yearly basis and become more barren.
It's not like NASCAR is the only motor racing series. I would like to understand Formula 1 more, and I'd like to get more familiar with Indy Car. Indy Car is still rather pure (despite push to pass), and I greatly appreciate that. Indy Car has gained at least one set of eye balls over this. Formula 1 will also likely see me tuning in more often despite my grievances with that series.
Guess who will watch only the Daytona races, Spring Martinsville race(already had tickets), Bristol Night Race, last few laps of Talladega races, and the final few laps of the final race?
The same person who hasn't missed a race in 10 years.
This would be the thread that you would start I'm afraid. There's plenty of demo racers, but league racing is rare and difficult to find any more. Those who were interested in leagues have long since either left or bought the S2 license.
As far as buying S2 I'm not sure how to help you if credit cards or something of the like are not options. That's not my area of knowledge.
Yes, I don't know how many times I've looked at practice session charts and saw the top 3 or 4 times set on the opening laps of the session for one reason or another at intermediate tracks.
NASCAR's really just trying too hard, when even the core fan base just wants the product to revert to what it used to be with a few small adjustments like the new simple points system and a possible larger bonus for wins.
Product differentiation is slowly going away in auto racing. That's all I'm thinking about this change. What one Earth is it going to look like at Talladega or Daytona in the Summer. . Hopefully not a junk yard.
Exactly, last year the chase field would have featured Brian Vickers, David Regan and Tony Stewart, but not included Kurt Busch.
Then at the final race in Homestead Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, and Kevin Harvick would have been even as far as points entering.
Tell me how this is fair for racing. Other sports have playoffs so that the championship is decided while playing against your nearest competitor. The Chase was acceptable, but this? You race the same people all year already! How is one race an acceptable measure of a champion? 10 is barely enough in my opinion.
I look for Johnson to win his 7th, and the 3 to do well in the 500. Beyond that, who knows. Hopefully the new trucks will not reduce the quality of racing in that series. I also hope that the 2014 Cup package will produce less aerodynamic push.
Drive through peanlty issued to entry number 62 for causing an avoidable incident. 62 failed to give car number 75 room to traverse the corner in a respectable manner resulting in contact and a spin for car number 75.
People have different expectations for the same thing. This is where arguments almost always come about. Drivers need to understand the way things are going to be and accept this prior to competition. Perhaps even lower your expectations for an event. You'll be surprized how good an event is if you don't expect it to be the race to end all races going into it. We are not professionals putting on these events, and we are not paid to put them on (in fact, the opposite is usually true).
Hum, it is weird to me that lights to SA are easy to get, but flights to a place like Vegas or San Diego or Phoenix isn't being that they are not much further.
I feel as though the US may as well be divided between multipule different nations. For example, the South East, the Mid-West, and North East are all so different as far as people it's hard to call them the same in my experiance. I've never been to the South West, but I'm sure it's different as well
I've never had this problem with travel sites. I write down prices and dates and have returned back to the same site multiple times with the same price, but you can never be too careful
