Description

1930s endurance rally car from Czechoslovakia
Fireoonk was a small car manufactured between 1933 and 1936 in Czechoslovakia. Despite being cheap, it was an advanced vehicle and it was the first Czechoslovak car with a front wheel drive. It was equipped with an economical 2-cylinder 2-stroke engine, a 3-speed gearbox a fully independent suspension, four-wheel drum brakes and rack-and-pinion steering.

In 1934 five special coupés were built for the famous 1000 Miles of Czechoslovakia race, which went from Prague to Bratislava and back. Based on a stock chassis with a specially tuned engine, the cars were equipped with light, aerodynamic, aluminium bodies. One of the coupés won the 1100cc category and gained the 5th place overall with an average speed of 92 kph, which was an impressive result (the race used ordinary Czechoslovak roads). Unfortunately none of the coupés survived till present day.

Realism note
The mod represents a 1934 endurance rally coupé. Keep in mind, that it does not drive like a modern vehicle. The mod was designed to be as realistic as possible even at cost of handling sacrifices such as aerodynamic lift or not ideal force feedback (back in the day, zero self-centering effect was common). Thanks to the uncommon chassis, the physics is almost fully supported in the current LFS version. Only small aproximations had to be done with tire size and suspension stiffness, because of leaf springs and historic bias-ply tires. According to a stock car manual, the double-clutch technique is not needed, but pressing an accelerator during a down-shift is recommended. The IRL car had steering wheel on the right side, but both configurations are available for more versatility. Windshield wipers can be moved using the following command:
/light extra toggle
