Fade celebrates his 3rd win while remains in 1 point lead in series

Aston Grand Prix was the 5th round of 8 of All-wheel-drive Winter Series, but it was the last road course. The 8.8 kilometers long Aston GP track is the longest configuration in LFS,and the pole position was taken by Reno with a laptime of 2:38.87,which is just 0.49 seconds off from the best official laptime. Championship leader Fade took the other front row starting position, losing just 15 hundreths of a second to his teammate.

Already after first few turns both spdo drivers kept their positions and pulled away from the rest until lap 3,when Reno made a slight mistake in the righthander after back straight,Fade took advantage of it and passed his teammate for the lead, and pulled away from him to up to 3 seconds advantage. After half distance Reno started to reduce the gap slightly, both drivers beat each other to set best laptimes, but Fade controlled the pace and never let Reno too close and took his 3rd win of AWS - all 3 were on road/street courses!

Series debuthant Klouczech from Team Inferno had to fight hard through the field after unsuccessful turn one incident causing him to spin in gravel trap, the czech driver still managed to finish in same position where he started - 3rd.

In Drivers Championship standings the top 2 remains in status quo - not only the order didn't change, but also the points difference - Fade scored 15 points for win,but Reno 13 for second place finish and both bonus points for fastest laps in both sessions. Even with points difference changes, also the rest of top 9 in standings kept their positions - 3rd still is league organizer Rony, followed by 2 MTDZX drivers - Fuller and Antti, both still in striking distance for 3rd. With just 3 rounds left, there are a maximum of 51 points left to score for single driver, including possible loss of attendance bonus points this makes theoretical chance for 11 drivers still to take the main title, allthough for 5 of them it has to be a miracle, but practically this already looks like a spdoRacing owned championship.

In FXR Master standings Fade remains in lead with an 8 points advantage over Reno,a chance to score all 34 points in remaining 2 FXR races gives a theoretical possibility for 15 drivers to claim this title. In Teams Championship spdoRacing extends their lead after taking full 30 point bag in latest round, while battle for 2nd place is just heating up between Master Team Drivers Zero X-treme and series hosts TheReality Racing Team, the latter taking back 2nd position with 2 points of advantage over rivals, while no other team can theoretically claim this title. Nations cup lead remains to Latvia, but Estonia with a strong performance in last round climbed up to 2nd place overtaking Finnland. A theoretical chance to take Nations cup still have 8 countrys, but realistically just the top half have serious chances.

Round 5 official results / Series standings

Just one week break between both Aston based races - round 6 the Aston Club Cross on custom layout is scheduled in February the 6th,and it will be the final race with RB4,so already one title will be decided - Reno leads the RB4 Master standings by 9 points over Fade, which means that any top 5 finish secures the title for Reno (or 1-2 places lower if 1 or both bonuspoints taken by him),while Rony also has theoretical chance for the title, but a win with atleast 1 bonuspoint while Reno doesn't score a single point and Fade finishes lower than 4th seems quite a miracle! Also this will be the final chance to score points for those who haven't scored a single one before,as in both final rounds will be able to race only those who have at least 1 point!
