After warm-up session the racers hoped back in their cars for two amazing qualifying sessions. The pressure was intense, only 1 lap to make your time, and your time had to count. 30 people attempting to qualify into only 16 positions. As it turned out the top sixteen were close to being within 2 seconds of each other. Not quite as close as expected but with only one lap to perform your best, its a lot to ask from the average racer. Not Nolan Scott, who steals pole by 0.03 seconds over David Williams.
Round 1, Round 2 and Semi-finals were all protocol for the two finalists: Nolan Scott (BigTime) from Core Racing and Rudy van Buren from F1RST Racing. Both of these drivers made an excellent performance in the finals with Nolan trailing by 0.15 seconds after three races, probably the closest finals we had ever had. However Rudy van Buren didn't stop there, putting up an amazing fight during the fourth and final race, and went all for nothing into the final turn where his FBM got up on the curb and spun around giving Nolan Scott an easy victory and enough time to win the first event of Head-to-Head: Winter Series '09!
