New era also in AWS - series will start it's 15th season under floodlights

At the dawn of new LFS era, AWS is set to start it's 15th season and already right at the start of the season it will use the biggest change of LFS as it will feature the first night race in history of this league. Besides new things this season will feature also few returns and the 6 rounds long season will decide if there will be also a new champion or a returning one, while besides main championship there are also 4 minor individual awards and 2 usual collective awards.

Season opens with new stuff - first ever night race, first race in new track configuration and first AWS race with formula type car. The NewYear City Challenge will feature 2 races with an electrified formula car E-Challenger Evo AWD, known from other series. Round 2 is a return of classic - after 1 year of vacation the LFS own AWD car RB4 will return and will be run in the short 600 meters Dirt Oval in the round under name Green 100 - a repeat of first 2 editions of this round back in 2019 and 2020. New and return is mixed in round 3 - Aston Grand Prix the round makes it's first return since 2018, Aston Grand Prix the track - the first return since inaugural season of AWS. Adda 200 Ans Tram was run 2 years ago in South City, now it will try out the updated version of the track.

2nd half of the season will be started with a round that has been run unchanged in every single season of AWS - Winter 200 once again will be run with the FXR for 67 laps, however the track has now been updated. Despite not being run in 2016, Blackwood RXGP is deffinitelly one of 3 main AWS classics, this season the Blackwood RX track will be run in reversed direction with the small K-Car Chorus, slowly challenging drivers every lap from turn 1. As usually in latest years, season finale features most attended round of previous season - for 2026 it is Westhill Street Cup, featuring the electrified XFR in the 10 kilometers long Westschleifenring custom configuration - the two 5-lap races will decide the final positions in championship standings.

Sunday evenings European time once again is the best time for AWS, starting from 1st sunday of the new year, continuing a bi-weekly schedule to finish the season in middle of march. All rounds will feature the newly available dynamic lighting - servers will always set to local date without time multiplier but with time offset to feature races in planned time of day, so every race can feature it's own specific lighting conditions.
