Jsk and S.Martin are the 2024/2025 LFSES champions!

Saturday 28th July in the evening, Adelaide, Australia... Well... Or what it looked like the place we were located, as the LFSES Round 7 and final round was held at Layout Square, using SantiFM's Adelaide layout. For this last round, all the titles were still in contention! But in LMP2, as it was to be the second consecutive round where Dodislaw didn't showed up, it was easily set to be Jsk's as the MRc driver didn't missed any round, to the contrary of it's Team Winners opponent who is going to miss his 3rd round. In GT3, the final battle was planned between S.Martin and Cyk. Mazdaratie could have made the remontada in the championship after missing the 2 first rounds, but infortunately he was set to miss the last round for being in vacations : game over! And after a month of pre-qualifications, the three faithful musketeers of the last LMP2 rounds were set to be as the same orders as usual. Jsk on pole in front of Owen and System. Team S1DUS' Gabor was qualified in 4th but didn't showed up at the start. In GT3, despite Mazdaratie's miss, it was another Team America's car that was in pole position, as their #33 car from Team America 2 was on the top of the grid. Titles contenders S.Martin and Cyk were respectively 2nd and 4th, with returner DLV making his second race of the season and ending up being the refeer between these two in 3rd. Nanex and his son Thorghos would make their first race of the season for the second NFR crew, starting in 5th, in front of Cotton Racers and Lambda Motorsports.

LMP2 :

At the green flag, the LMP2 race started in the quiet. Jsk started slowly to build a gap in front of Owen, meanwhile System was more far behind. The Frenchman was infortunately suffering some technicals issues, and lost a couple of seconds, as this visit on the turn 9's run off concluded with a front tap to the wall showed us. But it turned out it was going to be a battle of who would damage the less his car, for this first hour. Indeed, at lap 30th, the things started to shake up there in LMP2! Jsk had to make a forced first pit stop. The reason : some damages appeared on his suspensions, making the car undrivable. The Slovakian rejoined in P3. A lap later, it was the new leader, Owen, who was forced to mark his first pit stop. The Brasilian still kept the lead he got a lap ago, in front of System that didn't made his first stop, but the #9 car had lost a lot of time with his adventures. And what better for our eyes that all of that turned it into a 3 drivers battle for the LMP2 lead? Indeed System was carefully chasing Owen, while at the same time, Jsk melted his gap to them. And then Jsk passed System while this one was carefully trying to not hit Owen. Something that Jsk failed to do, as in lap 44, he couldn't avoid Owen's back in turn 9! The 2 drivers went on a synchronized spinning dance, while at the same time - in a mouse hole with a unavoidable tap on Jsk's nose - System took the lead of the race! But for only 3 corners... Because indeed, the FSR Team's driver had a almost empty tank, and it was time to give his #9 car the drink. Owen then took back his race lead, but he had to do with a hungry Jsk who definitely wanted his race leadership back.

And the battle spiced up between these 2, until a point where another contacts, this time without consequences, happened later. Finally, in lap 55, Jsk took his precious back from Owen's hands. And for the Brasilian, the things started to get worst... 10 laps later, it was time for him to do his second pit stop, but he then had to visit his mechanics two time more in 17 laps after that pit (laps 69 and 81) to fix some damages he did to his car. "Bis repetita" from Aston's scenario where we saw System climbing up to P2 while Owen struggled with his owns events. System then played the strategy to get a opportunity against Owen, since the SyN driver was quicker overall. But the FSR Team's leader had to make a earlier pit stop in lap 163, after his rear right suspension decided to collapse on the superior arm. Owen took back the second position for a couple of laps until he had to do his pit stop. We thought System was actually in advantage for the second place... Until a couple of laps later, another technical issues forced him to visit the run off area of the track, gifting Owen his second place back. But that was only temporary, as the Brasilian stayed in it for a dozen of laps if not more or less, until he lost the control of his car and hit the wall. He then did a (long) pit stop to fix all of that. The next lap, System decided to do the same, fixing his small damages, and also to finish the race in a fresh set of tires to contain Owen. And in the front? Jsk did built back a gap of 3 laps on the second place fighting duo, despite another forced pit stop for damages (lap 136), but then didn't failed at taking home the last win of the season, after 4 hours and 2 minutes, Jsk is the 2024/2025 LFS Endurance Series' LMP2 champion! System conclude his season in second place of the race and in the overall, meanwhile Owen conclude his half season participation in a still respectful 3rd position of the race.

GT3 :

At the second green flag, the GT3 race launched into the second battle of the evening, who between S.Martin and Cyk would claim the title? J.Garcia took a good start, so did S.Martin, but Cyk did it better climbing into DLV's 3rd place, and already started to honk into S.Martin's rear bumper. S.Martin was also pressuring into J.Garcia's until the beginning of the second lap, the SM Racing driver went a bit wide at the infamous T1-T3 combination, and taped the pile of tires. This was the perfect opportunity for Cyk to jump into the second position! The gaps then started to kind of stabilize into 4 fighters for the win. After the group of LMP2 did lapped them for a first time, J.Garcia started to increase his gap, meanwhile Cyk was strongly holding to his second place. Behind, S.Martin couldn't catch up, and even worst, he was watching DLV starting to knock into the podium's door. Indeed, the former Antiaris driver who was racing under the TVH By French Alfa Racing banner, definitely wanted to taste the podium's champagne for his second race of the season. And at the 22nd lap, he clearly showed his intentions by getting the 3rd place out of S.Martin's hand! But you know the saying? The things can always be worst... It's probably what S.Martin might had into his mind when 2 laps later, his car started to play hide and seek on the broadcast's picture... Indeed, the British's connection decided to start giving up, and offered him a time out... Fortunately for him and the title fight, he could join back in the back of field, a moments later, but 3 laps behind J.Garcia. And then DLV started to reduce the gap into Cyk, and it seemed like he was very hungry for the second place. After having S.Martin for his starter plate, would he take a piece of Cyk for the main meal? Of course yes! Because at the 31st lap, he took Cyk's second place on the straight. And by looking at his pace, the paddock was surprised, and the bookmakers were opening the bids, if DLV is really hungry, he could conclude his perfect meal by adding a J.Garcia into the menu for a tasty dessert! But the TVH driver seemed in difficulty for digesting as Cyk was holding great into his bumper.

Jokes apart, DLV started finally to build a gap on Cyk, but a gap that the Yes We Kan driver reduced at the end of the stint, as in the end of the lap 50, the podium's drivers make their first stop at the same time. If for J.Garcia, it wasn't changing a single thing on his leadership, the second place would switch drivers again! Indeed, DLV's pit stop was two time longer than Cyk's, and then the two frenchmens swapped their position again, in advantage for Cyk. When the GT3 leader entered into his 52nd's lap, we thought the VSC or the Safety Car would come out, as NFR's Thorghos who was honoring his first ever endurance race of his career on Live For Speed alongside his dad Nanex, infortunately ended up into a massive crash into the wall. The front of his car was too damaged to continue, and he carefully retired into a run off, saving the race from a eventual slow down. And 20 laps later, another drama striked into the GT3's field! Cotton Racers' Vina, who just has been passed by S.Martin for the GT3's 5th place, crashed his car before the turn 1, taping the wall at the pitlane's exit and then ending up into the other side's wall. It seemed like the car was somewhat still drivable. But a couple of corners later, he added another hit on the front of his car after recovering a spin at the entry of the long straight, when leaving the 8th corner. Then the things literally flamed up into the Cotton Racer's garage, as at the time he decided to retire the car, his team mate Nov9 was totally fuming in front of the medias, and said : "Vina should not have a super licence, ret**ded destroyed our car!" before leaving the paddock... And after all of that drama, it seemed like the GT3 field was frozen up, as J.Garcia was strongly holding his first place, in front of a strong second place's claimer Cyk. DLV was still in 3rd, meanwhile S.Martin was on a "remontada" into 4th, while Gzehoo was 5th. The latter infortunately parked his car off the track into his 114th lap, and then said to the media reporters a moment later that he was too exhausted to finish safely the race, and prefered to retire. DLV on his side was struggling a bit more than the race beginning, and gave his crew some work to fix the car. That was allowing S.Martin some hope of a achievement for his "remontada" into the podium, if he would. And after 188 laps and 4 hours and 4 minutes, J.Garcia passed the checkered flag as the GT3 race winner, offering the Team America a 4th win with 2 different cars! Cyk achieved his season into the second place a solid minute behind the winner. Meanwhile DLV, he finally held up great for the podium with the 3rd! Maybe he ended up 2 laps behind the 2 first drivers, but he still held a lap ahead S.Martin, who is the 2024/2025 LFS Endurance Series' GT3 champion!
