After attending a historic's race event a few weeks ago my interest in historic racing cars was once again revived. One of my favourites has to be the Ford Escort Mk1 when its set up for circuit racing. They are giant killers, they sound great and look great.

Here is my take on a Mk1 track car

Some specs:

2.2L Naturally Aspirated Cosworth YB, 5 speed manual, under 900kg, 13" classic BBS style wheels with slicks.

Looking ace M3thanol, you have beaten me to it! I've only done basic blocking out though, yours looks spot on. I might have to move on to the mk5b/6 RS2000 F2 Maxi kit cars

Are you thinking of doing a version that is faithful to the original Escort Mexicos? These were great rally cars back in the 60's and would be a good laugh on the rallycross stages

No I hadn't planned to, why don't you do something like that, the more the merrier I say

Pretty happy with how the Fraud is looking and the suspension setup seems to now be in a pretty good state. I think its time to make it public and let the LFS family have fun with it.

As usual, your feedback is appreciated! The default setup will be for Westhill International, so keep in mind that you will have to work on it for other tracks, especially those with slower tighter corners

Very nice! But...
1) Windshield must be transparent in my opinion!
2) If you want to race against the BERG CUP, you probably will need to increase the width of the tires by one measure (or decrease those of the BERG)

Currently no, but lets see for future updates. For now, it gives you a good challenge and should be something you'll get used to after a few laps

1- Noted, I will sort that out for the update I am busy with, its still a learning process for me and now I know how to do this.

2- I hear you, however, that is not the goal for this car, I want it to be as true to its real racing class as possible and there are limits on the tyres, berg cup is a bit more open as far as I understand.

Thanks for this car. This is my favorite mod (I haven't tested everything).
It's great fun to drive. And the AI isn't doing too badly. The power to weight ratio is very good. it looks like what we imagine of this car.
I'm a little surprised that the car is so docile and glued to the track. The dashboard could be improved but it's a very good job. Hopefully we will have nice skins and competing cars soon.

I did try my best to get the suspension designed well, it was thanks to the input of guys like turbofan & dan40BG that helped test it and gave feedback and pointers. The whole point is to have it handle well, without ANY aero added.
Yes the dash isn't great hahaha, I just went for something basic like many racecars have XD
There are two skins that I have added, one is for Castrol and the other for Avon Tyres. Enjoy buddy!

I ask you the question because I think your mod has real potential. It doesn't take much to complete it:

1- A template for skins with the possibility of integrating a headband on the windshield
2- And a more elaborate racing style dashboard as in the attached photos. It's important for immersion

It's good to go to the end of the concept so that people take ownership of the mod and produce skins and organize races

Yes I would like to still improve it, especially dashboard wise! I have learnt a lot and as I do I am trying to make updates that improve the look and feel of my mods. I will make a start on a new dash soon, now that the Ray 400 Touring is up and pretty good I will look back at this and make some tweaks to enhance the experience

I will look into updating the skin template, this is however not quite as important as the dash

It was sadly removed because it was discovered that the original 3D file was ripped from another game

It's soul lives on in this car, the Plover P2200 (https://www.lfs.net/files/vehmods/9D271F), just tweaked for the new car's dimensions, give it a try and give it some love in the ratings
