59th RTFR XL

A reminder - server will be password protected 1 hour before qualifying start to keep not knowing crowded server jumpers out of way,pass will be always the same: green

Pitting rules:

Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time,which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Important:
  • Due to time change to winter time in Europe,event's UTC time has been changed! If time of the location you reside has not been changed recently,please make sure you have the right event start time! In case of doubts,always use UTC time for time conversion!
  • After the farce of 55th RTFR XL (on same configuration,just other direction),it is worth to remind about track limits again - tarmac,curbs and paved green areas do count towards legal racing surface,grass does not! Make sure you have at least 2 wheels within legal surface at all times (including pit exit area). If someone has kicked away the shortcut limiting objects,it does not mean you can use the obstacle free area for your advantage. Points scoring laps in both sessions will be checked by default,rest at random selection. Only 100% secure way to be penalty free is to stay fair!

After 2 races with rather powerful cars,this one had a car with "just" 245 horsepower,but finnish made Raceabout is known for it's specific handling traits as a very challenging car,which is disliked by many. Still 32 cars stood on grid and were ready to take the challenge of 200km race with this car.

Rating and standings leader R.Kardol was the leader also in this race - with last qualifying attempt he set the fastest lap and scored his 6th pole position of RTFR XL (breaks the tie and is now 2nd best in this chart). After green lights he started his dominating race in which he led every single meter and scored his 7th RTFR XL racewin,setting also fastest lap of the race - his 5th. R.Kardol also increased his lead in most top5 finishes chart,where he has 26 of those already. Upsas started from 2nd row (4th in qualifying is repeated personal best),but soon was able to slip into 2nd position and keep in for the remainder of the race - 2nd place finish for him is his 3rd top5 finish,he also was able to tie winner for the fastest lap of the race - that's 2nd fastest lap in his achievements list. Even if the winningest driver in RTFR history started from front row,he could not keep the 2nd position and finished 3rd half a minute behind race winner - 18th top5 finish for the finn. 2 more finns closed the top5,both unlike top3 are still winless here - Doni finished 4th,which is 3 positions better than his previous best finish in RTFR XL races,Arska finished 5th - that's his 5th top5 finish overall,but best result this year.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Before this race,Raceabout was used just once in RTFR XL with under-average attendance of 14,sitting in the 18th position of 20. This week there were 38 competitors,boosting the least used car of LFS to 2nd place in RTFR XL most attended cars chart.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Cars in this race had enough resources for whole race while standing on grid,so some drivers chosed to pit just to comply with mandatory rule without needing actual pitwork - fastest of them was 4th place finished Doni with 10.10 seconds long pitstop.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Once again True Alpha came late to the event and joined the grid just few seconds before start - he gained a total of 25 positions to finish 7th,which should have been a top5 finish if he would qualify.

* HONORABLE MENTION :
This time we'll honor not a driver with some special performance,we will honor something else. Montreal has it's own "wall of champions",Kyoto goes a step further - it has a "wall of everyone"! Even without checking everyone,we can without doubt say,that everyone hit the wall after chicane that leads to oval at least once,most - multiple times,some finished a quite wrinkled car due close hugs with the honorable object.

VOD at Youtube:

Since R.Kardol has already used his 3 picks per calendar year,the honor of selecting next combo goes to 2nd place finisher Upsas,unfortunatelly he has not replied to message yet,that sent to him yesterday. He has time until tuesday to submit his choice for the final race of the year - which won't be the usual 4 weeks apart from previous,but 6! Next week in normal RTFR we will have same class and same environment as this week,but the combo will be different enough to make it quite different - car alone is almost twice as heavy. More details as always in the weekend!
