Event Specifics
Race:
1. Alerting the Administration: Use @sc to alert administration to look at your car or the section of track you were in when you use the @sc command. The command will tell the administration what location you're at.
2. Start and Safety Cars: A special grid format has been built for this round. All cars except the safety car will line up along the wall, angled towards the direction of travel. Photo attached.
Safety Car will lead the field through 1 formation lap. It will lead the field all the way to the pit entry. After Turn 13 & 14 / Boothy Chicane, the Safety Car will decrease speed to 80 kph / 49 mph. The field needs to form into double file, all cars carefully tightening the formation. This speed MUST be maintained until the GREEN FLAG. Overtaking is permitted as soon as the green is flown on the race start only.
On Restarts, the Safety Car will pull away from the field after Turn 12 / Oval 1. It must not be overtaken before it crosses the 1st Safety Car line.
3. Wind Conditions: No wind!
4. Communications: All drivers are required to be in the NDR TeamSpeak server: teamspeak.newdimensionracing.com - Race Control messages will be broadcast to anyone in a channel in the Pit Wall in TS. If you would like a subchannel for your team or friendly drivers, please let us know and we will create one.
5. Driver Naming: Be sure to be in your proper name format Number (grey or white), space, then First initial last name [eg. 00 J. Palmer]. The name must be in GREY or WHITE.
6. Tracker: Timing will be available and running on http://tracker.newdimensionracing.com.
7. Track Limits: Drivers are reminded that they mus have at least two whole tyres on the racing surface at all times. The racing surface is defined as the marked course and its kerbing. For the avoidance of doubt, the entire white line delineating the course is considered part of the course. In the pit entry and exit, the lines are yellow.
The following corners have special considerations:
Turn 11 Exit: drivers must stay to the left of the white line on the oval apron. Standard track limits apply based on that white line. We have a detection loop at this location.
Turn 12 / Oval 1: Any driver who takes to the apron after the tyre barrier should stay on the apron, to the right of the sleeping policeman, until the corner exit.
Turn 13 & 14 / Boothy Chicane: Drivers are permitted to use the installed kerbing. The outer portion of the outermost tyre is the start point for the cut detection loop, any contact with any tyre equals activation of the loop. There is also a loop on the right, in the gravel. The loop measures up to the point where you would contact the poles here.
Turn 17 & 18: A detection loop will log you if you have more than two wheels off the kerb here.
Pit Entry: each apex of the pit entry has a detection loop.
In Qualifying: Any loop activation invalidates that lap, and that lap alone.
In Race: Stewards will review. Positions or time gained by leaving the circuit should be redressed, and failure to do so may incur penalty.
Photos of these areas are attached.
8. Miscellany: Do NOT under any circumstances Shift+P or Shift+S during the race without authorization from Race Control.
9. Virtual Safety Car Test There will be two test Virtual Safety Car deployment in the free practice session, starting with about 5 minutes remaining in the session. All drivers are encouraged to participate in this test.
After finishing the race, please slow WELL BELOW racing speeds after Turn 1 and proceed around into pit lane. A Parc Ferme area will be created before all the pit stalls begin. The top 3 shall report back to Start / Finish Line for podium pose.
Top three and anyone else wishing to be interviewed on the broadcast should join the TeamSpeak for SimBroadcasts, at ts.simbroadcasts.tv, and one of the commentators will move you to the Commentary Box.
This race will be broadcasted by Sim Broadcasts: https://twitch.tv/simbroadcasts
Please post any procedural questions in this thread.
Good luck!
