The Fast & the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift
I saw the movie yesterday, and I have to say, it was awesome. It was quite funny too because a bunch of wanna-be-street-racers started racing and trying to drift after the movie. I'm pretty sure at least one of them crashed.
Time for me to stay off the motorcycle for a month...
I knew I would see a topic about this soon!

I'm not really into them as they all have about 20 gears and never use full throttle untill they wanna catch someone (isn't it quite stupid showing them racing along in a drag, then showing one of them put the throttle on more, LOL)

As sad as I is I quite wanna see it, but i'll just get a pirate, I ust wanna see what dodgy ideas they have now. illepall

im worried, because now instead of the retard boy racers doing wheelspins (in the FWD cars and stalling i might add!) away from the junctions, theyll now end up trying to do that "D0R1Ft0 sTyLe" they saw

am i the lonely one thinking that these movies serve the severall tastes of speed?

first = drag
second = lap race (sort of...) and drag yes
third = drift, drag (maybee, haven't seen it yet)
forth = ???

Why are serious racing filmes always some sort of documentation?
is the thrill missing or what?

<<< leaves

Nah, better make that six months. At least. Especially in North America with the over-abundance of morons on the continent.

If it wories you that much, I sugest you stay off a cycle on the street, err, for a long time (say 2-5 years); because, it's not like they're going to stop doing stupid things just out of the blue.

It is how stupidly unrealistic and ridiculous these movies are. Not to mention the acting. At least they didn't put Paul Walker back in for the 3rd one, or did they? (is that his name? I think, I work with someone named Paul Walker as well)

I saw the first one (movie channel). Ok, it was pretty stupid, but... Then I foolishly, against my better judgement, watched the second one :banghead: . There's no way I'll watch the third one even on one of the movie channels on TV.

Me, I'm taking the 5 yr old and the 2 yr old this week to see Cars. Can't wait for that one. The kid's movies are more entertaining than the adult movies anymore.
I unfortunately saw it today, the one thing that annoyed me [most] was the simple fact that, DRIFTING IS NOT RACING! The objectives of racing and drifting are for the most part mutually exclusive.
I read that none of the original actors are in it. I have only seen the first movie and that was way more than i needed to see.

Funny thing is i just finished watching some D1 drifting on tv. Completely and utterly boring. They drive two corners thats it. Drifters should buy an island and isolate themselves there with no connection to the rest of the world.
Give it a week or so, and half of the LFS drifters will have "If you're not outta control, you're not in control" assigned to their F-keys.

When I was younger I loved the Fast and Furious movie, I saw passed the awful story line because I was in my wannabe boy racer stage, not a chance I will be going to see the latest one.
I can say i wont see it as much as i want but i will most probably see it anyway.

I've heard its the best of the lot but not sure from the trailer.

Also i remember someone saying they put a Niasan engine in a Mustang. illepall
Doubtless this will be the most talked about movie this summer, by the "I think my Toyota is awesome cos it has a huge carbon-fibre spoiler on it" crowd.

I've seen the original one, but not wasted my money for a ticket at the cinema, waited until it was on telly instead, for free. Probably the worst thing I'd ever spent my time on upto that point.
Ok, I downloaded the movie to see if it was the one I want to see in the movie, it was so interesting that I fast forwarded to the end
my thoughts and things I noticed

1) the heroes even drove a RICED UP Volkswagen VAN...
2) everyone in the movie thinks that pulling the handbrake and leaving it up - is the way to drift
3) Nissan 350 Z pulls the handbrake, leaves it there, and drifts through a long turn gaining speed....
4) The main hero (whatshisname) doesnt even know how to drive - crashes a silvia (about a dozen of times) in his first race....
5) Why are they racing in drifts?
6) I understood the storyline - a bunch of poor immigrant idiots who cant drive beat some rich mafioso style professional street drifters in Japan.....
7) Ok, let's wait for dead people to show up... they RACE-DRIFT in a SLALOM where there is oncomming traffic instead of cones...not long till some 15-year old idiots try to do that in a Civic....
8) This is great, now they're shooting each other while drifting
9) WOW - a Nissan 350 Z is spinning all 4 wheels while drifting (looks like a AWD...)
10) ok, they crashed ALL the cars...nice....and the friend of the hero died... theres a message there somewhere...
11) Superb, the hero built a black 67 Mustang from a crashed Nissan Silvia Overnight....(maybe I didnt get this part right - Sleepy)
12) We got Vin Diesel showing himself in the last seconds of the movie....
13) BTW - special effects are quite the same as the Need for speed Underground intro...
hey, did you know they had 200 cars built for the movie? and those 200 cars cost a nice little 7 million dollars.

looks like a crappy movie, so i'll go see it, and laugh at all the wanna be ricers in the theater.
Quote from thisnameistaken :I wouldn't watch this film even if someone fit me with a pair of those Malcolm McDowell-style eye-keeper-opener machines. I'd somehow manage to will myself to death before the movie started.

I shudder to think what the skin requests are going to be like for the next couple of weeks.

'nuff said.

those kind of movies are nothing but bubblegum for the eyes.
rewatced the final part - YUP!!! THEY PUT A SILVIA ENGINE INTO A 67 MUSTANG!!!
the movie is now rated 4P
PERVERTED, PORNOGRAPHIC PIECE of POO
I saw the first - was something to pass time.
Watched the 2nd - regretted it
Seen advert for 3rd only good bit about it was the song in the back ground.
Oh well, gonna be funny seein all the chavs in rwd tryin to drift lmao

I must be living under a rock, cos I didn't realise they were actually going to be stupid enough to make another one of these awful films.

The only thing I've seen advertised recently that I would pay money to watch is the second Pirates film, although I can't remember its title.

but it makes sense, here an market-research institute pointed out that the youth of the nation 15-22 year old people have most of the money to spend.
So you see why these movies are made, (geek-war continues) first via toys, then via cell-phones (ring-tones and stuff...), now via movies too...
it all comes down to money (like always)...

regards
I've seen the previous F&F movies and they are pure crap, I remember a scene where the heroes where going in reverse gear through a motorway at high speed... no comments, but I think the worst racing/car related movie I've ever seen is Driven, that one with Stallone. I have no words to describe it.
omg you hate driven? rofl i have that on my ipod

its a good MOVIE
but real.. not .. quite lol

i think some of you guys here are taking the fact that these are supposed to be real... WRONG!
movies are meant to entertain or.. scare, or whatever

if you want to see a movie that may enterest you, watch Le Mans the movie

...movie wise it sucks, theres probably a whole 10 words said in the entire movie
.. but just.. car wise, of course its real.. hell, their stunt man that crashed lost a leg lol thats pretty real lol

i kinda want to see the new F&F tokyo drift; but see.. i see it as entertainment, not as something that would happen, i kinda liked the other F&f's (er.. well, some things were pushed a little to the extreme in 2f2f with the whole 'bro' thing) but..

thats all i have to say lol
Quote from XCNuse :omg you hate driven? rofl i have that on my ipod

Yo know you are going to burn in hell

Quote from XCNuse :

Ok, I agree with that, movies don't have to be real, some fiction is ok to maintan the action or guide the stroy, but there is a limit

Oh wait, now I remeber that film... Transporter 2... LOOOOL
there is only one real down point about these types of films, and thats imitation. people will now start going about, sticking stickers on their cars backwards and sliding round corners. after F&F1 and 2, tuners really took off here in the uk, aswell as street racing and 'living your life a 1/4 mile at a time'

makes it so much more dangerous for bikers, as saxo vtr boys think they can take us and then drive like morons trying.

apart from that, good luck to em, they are capotalising on popular culture, smart move.
i may go an see it, but i prob wont.
