But that's not what we're saying here - yes, a ban would see them coming back, but a block list would allow them to vent their spleen without derailing the conversation for the rest of us (unless people who haven't blocked them reply), and they wouldn't be aware that their audience was disappearing.
They also wouldn't be able to unleash streams of invective through PM like what Amynue had to put up with.
In a thread you don't need to read........
Unless of course your just desperate to feel triggered
My point is,
1) Ignoring people you don't like, do it yourself. It's not hard, I do it regularly.
2) Ignoring people who keep spamming on new demo accounts..., your desire for a block list won't work. So try 1 !
This is called 'Common Sense'. Unfortunately, 'Common Sense' stopped being a part of the education system many years ago and was replaced with 'Special Snowflakes' who need 'Safe Spaces' to prevent them being 'Triggered' by 'Unpleasant Things' (AKA Reality) that they can't deal with............
South Park have done (a whole season) on this one !!!
It's not that straight forward a feature I'm afraid. I had a look this week - I can super easily ignore posts made by users, but there's also post counts in threads and forums that would get oos then. It would for exmaple be possible to have a page with 1 post which could be ignored and then you have an empty page. The same with threads started by an ignored user. Do we hide the whole thread? (and then forum thread count is wrong).
So .. it's not so easy I'm afraid.
That said, Racer X NZ, you've also worn off my patience and you are on a thin line right now. You last post again is filled with pure non sense and it just not adding anything to this conversation or in general.
You decide how to go on from here.
I'm still waiting for an option to get rid of all posts from some uninteresting users on the forum.
The simplest option would be to replace the content of "<div class="FPostText">" element with a notice that the content is blocked due to your preferences. It would be nice to have a button to see the post, but not necessary at all (you can open a private/incognito session and check if you like).
i am still blocked by Dawes_Dust here in forums.
which i find highly amusing somehow.especially after reading this thread, that i apparently have missed when written.
so hows that even possible if theres no option for it ?
im okay with people blocking me.and i would too for some people .
i could even give you a danish example. however im thinking you know already who that might be...
(not you Lind,in case you read this)
maybe some time in the future then.
EDIT: and to say the least, its just plain stupid to take LFS to other networks for these things as i see the not so pleasant screenshot above with Scawens name to it.thats just childish as LFS rarely uses other places than LFS really.well maybe twitter. but thats not a good thing to do if you truly like what devs do with LFS , in my oppinion. just saying.
and for the records if someone thinks im against LFS.i am not. i liked LFS from day one i tried it some time in the i think late 2002´s or was it 2003.but theres also alot of misunderstanding in these forums towards users and what they mean. alteast sometimes . but i also think LFS and forums are getting better at seing through things. so i guess its on the right path, but still needs a few adjustments to be fully there,so to speak.
EDIT2: the worst thing i have heard from LFS users over the years is someone who got beaten up, by another LFS user in real life because of LFS. to me..thats taking it way to far. and thats a criminal act aswell.which has no place in LFS whatsoever. and i truly do not wish to hear about that ever again in any game or sim.thats below the waste to do things like that honestly. you might get mad at someone. but taking it to real life. is a completely different ballgame.and people should know this has happened before in LFS.sadly. personally i was shocked to learn about this (not sure what to call it) incident. go to another server, read someone elses posts. ignore the person. how hard is that to do? well this thread wouldnt be here if people acted like normal human beings with those things. thing is. they dont ! i wrote this so others can know it. thats all. and i was not involved in any of it. it was a user who told me this in private.one who rarely goes to LFS today for that same reasons ! and thats not what LFS is about!
Thank you for the userscript, Flame CZE, it seems to work well enough. And on the subject of brevity, there's also lfsdev-rss if you're mainly interested in what ScaViEr is up to and have a RSS client (or a web browser that can parse Atom/RSS) (main thread).
