[GD]ADNAN™ - WARNING for joining the track in race without qualifying.
[SR] StormCloud - WARNING for joining the track in race without qualifying.
*note: as per rules only drivers from championship standings top 10 may start the race without qualifying!

The dominating streak of S.Litmanen continued also in round 3 - he won the qualifying and won the race with safe gap even with unvoluntary repeating his trade mark - chasing from back of the field and overtaking everyone on track as due incident in lap 1 he had to return to racing surface in last position. But in lap 9 he already regained his lead position and rest of the race was just about setting fastest laps and extending gap to followers. Arco this time had the chance to step up from 3rd place to 2nd,but his old place was taken by Tisu.
As expected, the non-standart track had less visitors then previous rounds - 12 drivers accepted the challenge of altered Kyoto GP latter section, just 7 of them classified in results as championship points scorers, where rest threw away the chance for at least 4 points.

- - - - -

5 points gain is what S.Litmanen got in this round over closest rival Arco, breaking up the tiebreaker and S.Litmanen now leads championship standings by the same 5 points. 3rd currently is Vitaly with 18 points gap to leader,he has few other close followers in standings, meaning that there could be at least interesting fight for 3rd place.

In Teams Championship Sonicrealms Racing is pulling away from rest and now has 19 points lead over Conquest Racing with Race Green Autosports in 3rd,another 5 points off the leading team. Finland has even bigger gap to their rivals in Nations Cup - 20 points over Poland,22 - over Germany. After half of the season both these standings have a solid leader, while battle for being 2nd best is far away from over.

Again 2 weeks break between rounds, then VERL will visit English country side of Aston for race in Aston Classic Boot configuration - a track that features sections from first 3 Aston standart configurations.
If you check the replay I did qualifying but did not set a time.
Ok,seems like in future we will need direct statement in rules, that qualifying for the race means setting a laptime in qualifying.

Round 3

Sunday,16th August
17:30 UTC / 19:30 CET / 20:30 EET

V8 Racing League starts it's 2nd half of the season in Aston using custom configuration that combines first section of Aston Club, then turns left instead of right towards Aston Cadet reverse when reaching it's grid. When the track reaches path of Aston National configuration, there is another left turn to follow it for a very fast elevating section, hairpin and probably one of the trickiest LFS's chicanes to complete the 5.4km track.
After first half of the season there are 2 leaders - one has been fastest in every race, winning 2 of them and setting fastest laps in both sessions of all 3 rounds, other one has finished on podium in every race - 5 points is the difference between them, this is the round where we gonna see, which direction will the series turn - will it be a complete domination of S.Litmanen or can Arco still turn things around?

It was the 3rd round in row, where S.Litmanen celebrates a solid victory by taking maximum possible points out of round, but this time he had at least relatively close follower - Jati was able to stay in respectable distance and even set current fastest lap few times, but had to concede his compatriote and stay in 2nd place. Best of the rest was round one winner M.Kapal, who, after early rallycross action, had to do some catching and overtaking on his way to his 2nd VERL podium finish.
When we look at attendance statistics - this race gathered 14 drivers,10 of them crossed finish line,12 scored points towards championship by completing required 2/3 of race distance.

After 4 of 6 rounds, situation in all 3 championships is very similar - in Drivers Championship S.Litmanen leads by 15 points, meaning he needs to score 3 points more then his closest rival Arco in next round to clinch the title without even needing to attend final round. Theoretically still 6 drivers are eligible for main championship, where 4 of them need to dominate last 2 rounds without standings' leader attending, while Arco needs to regain from S.Litmanen at least 8 points in each of last 2 rounds.

Drivers Championship's leader's team is also very close clinching Teams Championship - Sonicrealms Racing leads table by 39 points with 29 points possible to score per round by team. Unless Conquest Racing,Savage SimSports and Team Animal doesn't gather reinforcements for last 2 rounds, they're already out of competition for teams title, while Race Green Autosports and Corse Motorsports needs a lot of things bouncing their way to have chances to challenge for win. Nations cup has the same story - Finland is now 42 points ahead of closest followers after collecting maximum possible 29 points in Aston - they need to collect just 16 points in next 2 rounds to clinch Nations Cup - 5 nations currently in striking distance for the cup,but 2nd place country Poland needs at least 2nd driver to even have a chance.

Now 3 weeks rest from loud V8 engines, then series visits the most different track in calendar - Race Green International Raceway. It's a very wide 1.2km long temporary park course featuring just 4 turns, layed out in parking lot by University of Kent. The course is so much slower then others in VERL schedule, that race distance had to be shortened to 150 kilometers to not stretch the event too long. Also this race will be the last chance to score points towards championship for those who haven't done that already as in final round only drivers, who have received at least one point in standings, will be allowed to participate!

Round 5

Sunday,6th September
17:30 UTC / 19:30 CET / 20:30 EET

Most of the season is now done, but 2 rounds still remaining - first of them already this sunday. It will be a shorter race in distance - only 150 kilometers, but that doesn't mean that it will be easier as the Race Green 150 will be a 125 lap race around the very short temporary course in parking lot of Kent University.
Note that the track has no automatic pitlane speed check - allthough the 80km/h (50mph) speed limit will not be enforced,it is still strongly suggested!
With 2 rounds to go we have pretty strong favourites in race for all 3 championships and all of them can be clinched before the final round, but the very different custom track still has a chance to mix up field and create at least a bit of intrigue for season finale.

Track: Race Green International Raceway ACW (AU1)

JKyytinen - WARNING for poor driving standarts. Allthough Race Green Events does not enforce highest driving standarts and drivers with high variety of skill are welcome to our events, some common sense is still required. In this case driver, who already reported technical problems with controls, wasn't prepared for race and also qualified last,SHOULD NOT drive this agressively in field - like going for many overtakes in first lap, overtaking drivers one or more laps ahead later or blocking overtake from driver (polesitter),who rejoined the race and happened to be laps behind, also he should drive more carefully and give more effort to keep car under control and avoid spins with highly overheated or blown tyres. Since no real damage to other racers was done, this time we'll settle for warning, but similar behaviour in future might end with disqualification!

5th race,4th win - S.Litmanen's stats so far in V8 Racing League, but this one deffinitely was the least easy one. After scoring 4 pole positions,5th was taken away from the finnish driver - Arco set a new lap record of this custom track in qualifying and started the hard chase towards championship. Allthough polesitter lost his lead early in race to his main rival, race was still wide open until unfortunate loss of connection for Arco. He was able to rejoin the race and collect at least few points, but S.Litmanen could race to another victory, allthough not completelly stress free. Tisu and Rony filled the rest of podium positions in race, which was named after their team.
The custom shorttrack was expected to be least attended and stats just filled expectations - just 9 drivers took the challenge of this different track, but all 9 managed to finish the race.

With one spare round all championship titles have their owners - after another win,Drivers Championship went to Finland - S.Litmanen had a dominating season and wrapped up the title by having 26 points difference to closest follower Arco with 17 points available per round. Arco has quite secure situation for keeping his 2nd position,as Rony is another 12 points behind.

With 29 points (in theory 30,but that includes both drivers setting same fastest lap of race) up for grabs,Sonicrealms Racing has 5 points more then needed to secure Teams championship. Race Green Autosports needs just 4 points in final race to secure their 2nd place in any scenario, same goes for single driver team Conquest Racing and their 3rd place.

In Nations Cup Finland has a massive 61 points lead over Poland and thus secures the title. But in theory there is a fight left for 2nd place in standings here - Poland leads over Latvia by 6 points and over Germany by 7.

4 weeks apart is the final round of V8 Racing league - in 4th october racing will return to rebuilt Westhill and we will have a 200 kilometer race at reversed shorter configuration known as Westhill National. 23 drivers from 11 teams and 10 nations have qualified for the season finale by scoring points towards Drivers Championship, let's hope to see at least bigger half of them for the season finale!

Final Round

Sunday,4th October
17:30 UTC / 19:30 CET / 20:30 EET

Since all the intrigue about championships are gone, quite "relaxed" racing should be expected in final round of 2015 V8 Racing League series,as long as you can call driving a 450 horsepower lightweight single seater relaxing. The league is returning to the location where everything begun - Westhill! For the final round the twisty and tricky National configuration is used in reverse direction, making this 200 kilometer race to a 46 laps race.
A total of 23 drivers have qualified for final round by scoring at least one point towards Drivers Championship. Race Green Events hopes that most of them will come to celebrate end of inaugural season of this league.
