An alpha for a new "Minecraft clone" called Cube World has been released.

Bought it last night and been playing for hours since then, it's very addictive! It kind of mixes in RPG elements to Minecraftish blocky worlds.

The developer has said he was heavily influenced by Minecraft (duh) but the gameplay actually has no mining as the only way to shape the world is by using bombs, it's more of an RPG game set in a blocky world.

This is pretty accurate of low level/beginning gameplay. The claims of Dark Souls difficulty levels aren't completely unfounded.

Managed to solo a +2 catacomb today for the first time, ran out of potions just as I killed the main quest boss... never ever have I butt clenched so hard.
