LFSCART Series 2013: Round 2 Broadcast LIVE 18 May

After a challenging Round 1 at Aston Grand Touring Reversed, won by CoRe Racing's Teemu Suninen on a dramatic last lap pass, the LFSCART Series heads to Blackwood Racetrack in the west of England for Round 2.
The Blackwood Grand Prix track is the original track of Live for Speed, and the one that all LFS users know about and have raced. It's the demo track, it's the oldest track in the game. It's short and tight, a classic club-type circuit nestled in the English countryside.

Overtaking spots are few on this 2 mile course with only 8 corners. Turn 4 at the end of the long backstraight makes the best overtaking opportunity, with slipstreaming playing a large role at that point on the course. The final turn lends itself to an overtaking point at the end of the pit straight for the benefit of the car in the battle with the better exit from the final corner.

Finnish drivers took seven of the top ten spots in the finishing order at Round 1, with 4 of them in the top 4! Teemu Suninen won in a dramatic battle with Illari Juusela. Suninen was on fresher and warmer tyres than Juusela was, and was catching at over 1.5 seconds per lap after the restart from the race's only safety car. An attempt at overtaking on the penultimate lap ended with fantastic defending and re-passing by Juusela to hold the lead until the final half-lap of the race.

Expect some drivers to lose patience and make mistakes while trying to overtake at this course. Narrow road and the short lap mean that lapping slower cars can play a big role. Also a big role is getting in and out of the pitlane during the compulsory pitstop - the circuit features a narrow entry, uphill and around a blind corner, and a fast, but lengthy exit.
