Announcing: All-Wheel-Drive Winter Series 2013

Race Green Events presents: All-Wheel-Drive Winter Series 2013 (AWS)!

After more or less succesful season 1 of series, time is closing to the start of a new season! The 2012 season went pretty much under estonian driver's Reno's name,as he won series main title with 32 point margin by winning half of rounds, collected every other individual title and helped his (now ex-) team spdoRacing to grab teams championship, while nations cup was taken by host nation Latvia.
Last years thread with all results and discussions > here <.

AWS (as you can understand from it's name) is league where are used both all-wheel-drive cars in LFS - FXO GTR and RB4 GT. And since winter mostly associates with slippery driving conditions (well,at least in our part of world),the best way to have fun in such conditions is to race AWD cars - this is how the idea born for this league. To make it slippery, half of the tracks are rallycross ones, the tricky part - 2 of those will be raced with FXR,pushing driver's skills to the limit. Despite having the "wrong" tyres,FXR is the fastest car on rallycross tracks (unless some crazy fanatic beats it with BF1),lapping BL2 in under minute, and sideways is the fastest way - what could be more fun?

Series will consist of 8 rounds starting early december through january and finishing late february - 5 rounds will be run using FXR (2 rallycross tracks and one of each - road course, street course and oval) and 3 will be held with RB4 (2 different rallycross tracks and 1 road course),giving the opportunity to race most variable conditions. Race lenght will be planned to be around 40 minutes after 20 minutes of qualifying, except last 2 rounds, where distance will be determined using round numbers (either laps or kilometers) and qualifying will be the hotlap one.

This season will have a new title added to fight for - Rookie of the Year, where everyone who hasn't started a single AWS race will be eligible for title. All other titles will be up for grabs again - let's see if Reno will be able (or even interested) to defend his individual titles, while teams championship will possobly taken by some other team as their AWS leader has left them, seeing inactivity from latvian racers lately, also nations cup could have a different winner.

The provisional schedule:
1. 03.12.2012. FXR - Blackwood Rallycross Reversed (BL2R)
2. 17.12.2012. RB4 - Kyoto Grand Touring (KY3X - K32)
3. 07.01.2013. FXR - South City City Long (SO4)
4. 14.01.2013. RB4 - Fern Bay Rallycross Reversed (FE5R)
5. 28.01.2013. FXR - Aston Grand Touring Reversed (AS6R)
6. 04.02.2013. RB4 - Aston Club Cross 2 (AS2X)
7. 18.02.2013. FXR - Fern Bay RallyX Green (FE6)
8. 25.02.2013. FXR - Kyoto Oval (KY1)

4 of the rounds have been planned to change tracks (2 of them just in reversed direction on same track) compared to last year, while Aston Club Cross layout will receive an update to make it a little shorter, but 3 FXR rounds, including both season deciding rounds, should be left untouched.

The league will be run in same time as last year - monday evenings 19:00 UTC (21:00 EET / 20:00 CET).

Any exact announcements (together with info and signups) will be made mid-november,
until then I'm hoping for some feedback, comments and suggestions from all interested drivers!

Rony / Race Green Events
