The rF vs LFS thread, which is alive again recently, reminds me of this. We all know that the feedback from the wheel is important, but how important is it exactly ?

Let's do a test. (It's not limited to LFS. Do it in whatever sim you play.) Just turn off the FFB (have centering force on or off as you wish) and try to race or drift as good as you can. Reply to tell us what happens. Make sure to let us know how much experience you have with each type of controller.

You can also talk about drifting in RL with cars that have too much steering assistant and no enough feedback.
