How right wing are you?
http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

Thought it would be interesting to see the results of some of the members here.

I'll start off.
Economic Left/Right: -7.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62

I'm in Gandhi/Dalai Lama/Nelson Mandela territory. I can live with that
Sounds about right...

Economic Left/Right: -3.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.82

My intuition says that the calculation is flawed: by even accepting to take such a test you should get several extra points towards authoritarian beliefs. Quantify that, suckers.
I'm sure I remember doing this before (actually it was on the SR forum, where I was 2.12, -4.21)

Economic Left/Right: 2.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.44

Problem is looking at the UK parties available to us, we don't exactly have much to vote for...

Oh and Stu, is that right wing as in BNP faux-right wing or actual right wing you're talking about?

It's pretty much where I would've placed myself I think.

Its an interesting quiz but some of the questions are a bit black and white, e.g. whether its a waste of time to rehabilitate criminals depends on the sitation and the individual.

Still... -6.12 -4.31

Economic Left/Right: -6.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.59

I think I've done this before. Hmm, need to find that thread...
(E: last time my "stats" were Economic Left/Right: -4.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.13)

Here are few of my answers:
- death penalty: yes
- same sex child adoption: yes
- astrology is absolute bs
- Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers.: strongly disagree
- Protectionism is sometimes necessary in trade.: agree
- I'd always support my country, whether it was right or wrong.: disagree
Healthy left wing liberatarian opinion i guess.

Economic Left/Right: -4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.03

Well in a "quiz" or test, you need questions which are plain and simple to find out the tendency. The little corrections to that tendency are usually made up by deeper more complex questions which weigh less.

Didn't understand one question, some questions were too vague or specific etc.

Almost dead centre.

Economic -5.75
Social -6.97

Left wing liberal tree hugging lesbian reporting for duty *salutes*. Let's go burn down some council offices...
Damn.. I felt looking at that:

Economic Left/Right: 1.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.85

I missed "no matter" answer
The questions are very very leading

So everyone thinks their Noam Chomskyesque Socialist Libertarians. lol Which of course is a fallacy, it don't work.

And the right wing fascism that you extole has left the Western world all daisey fresh and lovely hasnt it?
Quote from The Moose :Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama was born into a culture that turns the peasants into slaves, through the Chinese invading and taking the area, the peasants are now able to get paid for their work.

Please, tell me how that is a bad thing and how the Dalai Lama is seen as some hero in the West? Oh yes, that's right, he doesn't like China, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and "the lesser of two evils"? Bollocks to that, the enemy of my enemy is not my friend and the lesser of two evils is still evil.

This test could have done with some "neutral" options, as a few places I wasn't for or against an argument. I am also more left wing than I thought, I've always put myself as slightly right wing.

Thats OK, left wing politicians have been having a similar problem for years :P.

Touché good lady.

Right-wing fascism? me? lol

Economically I am certainly pro-free markets (that doesn't mean pro-big business) and socially pro-freedom. Neither are mutually exclusive.

But then again it's left-wing economic thinking that meant all the chronie bankers were bailed out, governments ran up massive national debts and put utter faith in fiat currencies, none of which are 'free market'. So left/right/left/right... it's all nonsense. If you think 'capitalism' is to blame for this mess you so far wide of the mark. It's far beyond that.
