New primary HDD
Well it looks like my primary has packed in after 3years! So im on the hunt for a new one, I've got a 160gb atm and a 1tb 2nd one that I keep most things on but its nearly full so ideally I'd like another tb.

So what would you guys recommend? Of course is like as cheap as possible

Cheers!
Go SSD and stop collecting garbage.

take a SSD 60 Gigas will be good put there only operating system, LFS and netkar pro (if you are iracing player(SSD will have to be at least 80 or better 120Gigas).
And will be a nice improve in performance in your system..

OT:

I imagine they are much more vulnerable to data corruption/loss?

...I don't think I'll ever feel sage keeping my irreplaceable data on an SSD...
i've always wondered that too... since ssd's are getting cheaper.

does that whole deal with write limits still apply? i was looking at some specs for one on newegg, and it said the MBTF was something crazy like 137 years...

Actually two Spinpoint F4's in RAID-0. They are fastest 7200rpm HDDs, with over 150 MB/s reads.

And two of them are just $80.
