Clay helmet&Swiss suit with gloves
Hello guys!

As the normal suit is boring, and my helmet now rather old, I'd like to ask if someone would be interested to help me.

The suit&gloves: I'd like something that looks like the Swiss flag painted on it, so mainly red with white(cross).

The only suit that looked a bit like my idea was a ski racing suit:

But without dots, and some curvy or straight white lines on the upper body.

Additionally, my name on the "belt" between upper-and lower body would be nice.

As for the helmet, I am interested in the '79 helmet of Clay Regazzoni. It's quite hard to get a pic of that year though, so any style from '74-'79 would be okay:

As you can see, they are different helmets because I can't find several pictures from 1979. They pictures above are between 76-79 I think.

I would be glad if you could help me
Sites, where I can find pictures of Clay's specific '79 helmet would be appreciated too, I have a hard time finding the right places.

If you think you can help me with my request, write me a PM.
Maybe I was asking a bit too much with gloves and stuff.

Anyone that could do it though?
Tried the helmet, was little confusing to find the colour tone, since it was different in all preview pictures. And LFS's helmet model is quite...hmmm...poor... That's why it's little hard for a noob like me make a quality skin. But this is what I've made now - the base painting:

What do you think?
Hey, that's not bad, it's like Troy's Siffert helmet, plain, but looks very nice!
It's just the base painting,so if you think it's ok,I'll start put stickers. First problem - they vary between pictures, which one should I take as reference? And the other problem - I have no proper kit for visor... And about red colour - is this tone ok? No need to adjust it?
I was looking at the '79 helmet, just the angles are hard to see all details...

Visor isn't that much of a problem, I think?

And the base red isn't that far off either I believe? You can tweak if you think it needs it.

Btw: Isn't there a way to get the colour from a picture? Doesn't it work to use the "colour-copy" in GIMP to get the right colour, or at least as close as possible?
I took the colour sample from this one: http://helmetsnl.webs.com/Clay%20Regazzoni%201977.jpg because it was the clearest picture, but also even in it there are a lots of shades of red, that's why it's always so confusing to pick tight tone... Ok,tomorrow I'll try do something.
looking good so far eclipsed

Quote from Eclipsed :I have no proper kit for visor

If it helps there are a couple of very good visor kits around, not sure if they will fit this one but thought i would post the links up just incase :

Darkone's arai kit

Squale's kits
Thanks for the kits,GAVD!

Today I was starting to place the stickers, placed Marlboro on visor and visor itself from kin,so far so good. Couldn't find JEB'S helmet logo anywhere, had to improvize, sort of done. But when I wanted to place it in it's place... Look where it suposed to be (at sides) and then look at the painting I've made... Totally messed up this one... :worried:
Do you still have the helmet?
Oh,totally forgot about this... Well,I gave up on this, just too low skill on helmets for me. Here's the PSD file if someone wants to make this and somehow thinks that my work so far ir useful:

And attached the skinfile I've done so far.
Yea, the cube is very difficult when it comes to have round schemes on it. The side line could be a bit more curved, although that may result looking shite (buckles) from certain perspectives. A way to get a round it would be using straight lines, but that would look edgy in a direct view.
The top shape could eb a bit more thicker at the rear and thinner on the front.

I could give it a try the next days.
Any help is appreciated, and thanks four yours aswell!

EDIT: And if someone knows how to edit gloves&suit, that would be even greater
Ok, if you want something changed like the top shape pulled down like it seems to have been on one of his helmets or different sponsors, feel free to say so.

Suits are like car skins (only jpgs) and located in the pic folder i believe (not sure). Somewhere there is a template (probably masterskinnerz) for it but i don't have it and never done a suit. I also don't have an idea how to style one as i'm not very creative but more of a technician xD

Still, very impressive work with the helmet, thanks a lot, I am absolutely satisfied with this one

Well, for the suit and gloves, maybe I ask someone else.
well i had a quick try.. there's a first time for everything.

Let me know what you think as i don't have lfs installed atm and i don't know how it looks

Wow,looks now so simple, but I managed to mess up,another proof, that I shouldn't try hemets. I have my personal helmet project standing since start of year, just can't finish it...
Good job,JazzOn!
hehe, i know how it is.. i havn't finished a few private helmets yet either.. sometime it just doesn't work out and sometimes it simply isn't possible

The important thing is probably to make compromises. First things is the proportions and then I focus on having the optimum look from front/side as you most time see the helmet in this view.

However, if you need help to find a line or want a second opinion, feel free to write me up. =)

PS. Thanks

I've seen it now. It looks okay.

But rather than my user name, how about putting the driver name onto the suit?

Look at Fässler's suit. You can see the country and the name on the suit.

That would fit more in my opinion

EDIT: Not sure either about the grey stripes there.
oh sure, but might take a while. i wanna install lfs again and then iÄll chekc it out... i don'T even know where the belt area is

PS. you could actually try to make it youself, if you don't need the stripes either dowmnload paint.net and apply (modus multiply) this texture from masterskinnerz suit template.

Well, if I could, I wouldn't have asked here. I am absolutely shite at creating something myself.

If it's liveries or just drawing, it's always very average.
Ok, i'm just saying, a red suit and the name on it is very simple. Something you can do with any program. I can't access my comp till next we, so you might be faster yourself.
Besides, you've asked how to edit them and that is what i have done... there is no big secret to it ^^

However, i'll give it a shot, alone to figure it out and make a suit for myself.

Ps. you could drop tonix a pm or something... he makes awesome suits
I've looked at his profile, but hasn't he been away from the forums since the start of this year?
