Seems like this is in fact a first step to the formation big Asian Touring Car Champ by 2014, with the S2000 regulations. In fact, the FIA seems to aim to impose the S2000 regs to most national series.

This is allright as long as they are sure to get enough cars on the entry lists - let's hope it won't end up with the European Touring Car Cup with only like 10 S2000 engaged, including 5 three or four seconds off the pace
S2000 regs suck, give em a bit more power.
Quote from Mustafur :S2000 regs suck, give em a bit more power.

I usually find the more power in a series, the more I hate it.
until you get to F1 which is pretty much unwatchable.

I think there's enough minor asian series already and work should be done to merge some (if not all) of them into one mass Pan-Asia series.

There's the CTCC (Chinese Touring Car Championship: http://www.touringcartimes.com ... wtopic.php?f=17&t=211)
There's a HKTCC (Hong Kong Touring Car Championship: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H ... _Touring_Car_Championship)
There's a ITCS (Indonesian Touring Car Series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... QAUj8&feature=related)
Then there's the ATCS (Asian Touring Car Series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Touring_Car_Championship)

Now there's going to be a JTCC? Seriously, all of these touring car series are extremely redundant (and all of them have very small grids). I say merge them all (including this new effort of JTCC) and just have one massive premier asian series. After all that is what the ATCS was originally suppose to do  motorsports is a mess in asia and someone needs to seriously clean it up

Some quick recap vids of the ATSC

I'm actually pleasently surprised it's not as fail as the middle eastern V8 Chevy Supercar series

meh I prefer Granny racers
It should be 'relaunched' in the thread title.
good to hear that FIA realize that auto racing is not only Formula one
S2000 Sucks, Give them electric cars
Quote from Mattesa :What? The? EFF?

Just....

Like... What!?

Yeah...I know. I'm pretty sure I could have won that race I'm moving to the middle east And imagine. This was suppose to be a support and feeder series to the V8 Supercars
That was pitiful. Back on topic now.
JGTC is too strong in Japan. They used to have a touring car championship, but the manufacturers all moved to JGTC.

Perhaps a performance-ballast limited production car championship might work OK.

I remember the JTCC was very interesting, a lot of odd ball cars were competitive such as Coronas and Chasers.

Not sure how it will work out now, japanese sedans of these generations are pretty boring.
